Any hope for this deck?

That was from Southside Equipment like someone mentioned above. I usually turn down wood decks and don’t see that changing in the near future, but that stuff worked pretty dang good.

I get most of my stuff from Pressuretek, but degreaser I started getting from Harcros. It’s all about finding stuff that works for you.

Correction: I get EBC and F9 from whoever pops up in search when I need it. Oxalic acid I get from Florida Labs via Amazon now because it’s cheaper than going direct.

Ah gotcha! I’ve done a bunch of decks at low pressure to avoid that furryness you were talking about, but I def think it’s time to step up into the chem game, and start trying new approaches so I’ll be trying that renew all stuff that was mentioned… what’re your thoughts on the cheapo stuff you can get thru walmart.com or the store itself, that states on the bottles for decks, and other stuff like campers and siding and such ?

Worthless. All of it.

I appreciate the input. It saves me the frustration of having to buy that stuff and have it not work. @squidskc question related to the xjet m5… do you have to have a minimum gpm to use that or can you use it with any PW even if it’s only 2.5 gpm and 3100psi max? Any thoughts ?

That machine is in the same category as walmart supplies.

Haha I agree man. I’m working on getting a belt drive washer with 3500 psi at 5gpm. My uncle has a commercial washer he wants to sell me for really cheap but I cant help but feel like it would be a bad investment. It’s got 7500 psi max, a few different on board reservoirs, and a direct drive pump. But I feel like that’s way too much pressure to use with other accessories that say they are good for a max of like 4000 psi or so… also even with a downstream tip or white tip I feel like that much pressure would cause damage. Thoughts?

Even if a machine can put out 7500 psi you don’t have to use 7500 psi. You can drop the psi to whatever you want by swapping nozzles.

Throw the white tip away and select nozzles according to the machine your using. You can use a machine rated for 7500 psi and softwash a house at 100 psi.

You’ll need to know the gpm of the machine to use a nozzle chart. Don’t worry about psi too much. Gpm is king.

Thanks marine… with that being said, should I scoop up that machine from him, call it a day? And should I still focus on the soft washer build I’m doing; maybe on top of that, or can I use an xjet with that machine and hold off on the soft washer build ?

Need more information about the machine. How old? Make and model? GPM’s?

What’s your reasoning for using an x-jet? Many don’t use one so they don’t have to haul a bucket of house wash mix around. Some will use the M5DS which is just an adjustable nozzle to down stream. Others use a jrod with nozzles selected to work for their machine. If you need a stronger mix like on stucco many will pull out an x-jet for that.

Soft wash build is up to you but many just soft wash with a pressure washer. That’s where the nozzles come into play. You’ll want a soft wash rig if you plan on doing roofs though.

Also, why don’t you start a new thread about the machine in question so this thread doesn’t get any more off track.

@squidskc that looks good… I did half my own pool deck just trying to get the feel for renewall I’ll take some pictures tomorrow with my wife’s phone… I’m gonna try 9:1 on other half one day when it stops raining so much lol…

Do you have to be super careful with the renewall to make sure it stays off the siding etc. Or is it safe for short term. Jw I just ordered two gallons seems everyone here wants a deck cleaned and they love my before and after pics. May have found a niche. I really enjoy the gratification of getting a nasty deck restored. I’m using sh and ox right now wanting to experiment with other ways though.

Used some renewall couple days ago to strip a deck. Was at 3:1. Worked great, left some fuzzies but nothing an Osborn brush can’t fix
