Advice from you concrete lovers

I’ve cleaned plenty of concrete, but nothing like this… Had a customer call today saying that her oil filter was loose after getting an oil change from Wal-Mart and has 4 qt’s of oil on her drive way ( spilled a week ago)… What’s the best approach here? I don’t have a hot water unit… Thinking kitty litter, sweep up, spot clean with zep purple not dilluted to major oil spots, x jet zep purple 50/50 on entire drive, brush ( small driveway) brush and Surface clean.

What would you concrete experts do without hot water. If this was a large job I’d rent like I usually do. but rental would cost more then the job lol

Clean the driveway like normal. Degrease the spot the best you can with the zep purple. Buy a bag of oil dri and a cinderblock. Crush the oil dri in enough to pulverize the oil dri into clay powder. Tell her to wash it away in a couple days. It’s the best you can do without hot water and only really works when the oil is fresh, but it’ll hook you up. 80% or better.

And, tell her that the oil shadow will likely be there until the sun removes it.

I have not found a degreaser that will remove the shadows from oil stains…as squid said, it will look better but if it ever comes out, it will take time…even with hot water.

Thanks guys!

I usually wouldn’t even take a job like this but she was crying on the phone and I kind of said yes without thinking it through haha

Nubrite has a stronger percentage of sodhydrox than even Zep Purp. It’s called a condenser coil cleaner.
