Accepting payments

Good deal, I found it to be the opposite

I only do fleet work for now and I use Joist Pro. Customers seem to like it well enough to where I have never gotten a complaint on ease of use from them. I like it because I get notifications of when they open my eatimates and invoices. I honestly don’t think I’d use another service right now

One of the things I like about CF is I can keep up with expenses profit and loss pretty much everything. come tax time I hit print reports and I’m done

I used Joist for awhile but, after seeing all the numerous other options that Markate and other programs have, I will never go back unless they seriously up their game. Not saying that Joist isn’t good they’re just bare bones compared to others.

I still have a lot to learn on Markate but there’s so much automation. You can click a few buttons and have a new customer added and estimate sent in a matter of minutes. (I think you can do that with Joist though) You can then set it up to where it automatically sends a reminder the day before and tells them how to prepare, sends automatic receipt after payment, email thanking them for their business, asking for reviews, etc. It can track mileage, spending, has online booking, and a lot more that I haven’t looked into yet but plan too in the off season. It’s only like $10 more than Joist Pro. It sure has a lot of offer but you might not need all that other stuff since you mainly do fleets and won’t have a lot of estimates once your schedule is filled up. At your rate that’ll be any day now! Might be worth messing around with the free trial if you ever get a chance. Not just Markate but maybe even one of the others. That way you can at least see if it’s something that could make your life easier. I know I’m glad I did.

Depending on the area, I force customers to make a prepayment of $25 to hold their spot. They pay through my website. All credit or debit payments go through the website

Had some people wanting me to drive 45 minutes one way and haul water. I asked for a $50 deposit to guarantee their spot and for the cost of hauling the water. They said they would pay, have not yet. These people would have canceled anyways. I can pretty much smell these people a mile away.

Ohhh I know the smell of those people. After so many years of dealing directly with the public.

Like a freshly opened can of tennis balls with a hint of cabernet savuingion and wet dog…
