A little pressure washing; a lot of tobacco cessation talk

I made it 2 days and was about to drive everyone around me crazy. so I bought a pack today. I’m going to the VA Wednesday. I’ve heard their stop smoking program is good and the meds calms you down to where I would at least be able to be around people lol.

Started dipping at 14, been at it for the last 17 years. Quit two different times, the last for almost 2 years but used a vape instead. Felt like I was getting shortness of breath (probably more so from the bleach than the vape) so decided to throw it away and buy a can again and now back to old habits. Nothing beats throwing in a good ol’ dip when you’ve got something to accomplish though! (or fishing, or golfing, or working in the shop, or watching tv, etc etc etc…)

Bro… You Awesomewashed the crap outta that place!

I tried the Zyban and it did help. The Chantix worked even better. Even made them almost taste weird enough that I didn’t want one as bad so that was an added benefit. I didn’t have any side effects except super vivid dreams. It was pretty neat with some of my dreams and loved it but not so much with others. That has been a little while since I tried those. Plus, I was younger and drank on the weekends and always seemed to go back to smoking then. Once our kiddos got a little older a stopped drinking all together so that helped and probably part of the reason why I had more success with the vape.

I never in a million years thought vaping would’ve worked for me. I saw so many friends doing it but they didn’t smoke as much as I did. I finally said the heck with it and bought one. I’m not talking those cheap ones at the gas station but a mod or whatever they’re called. Heck, I bought one a year later for my father-in-law who smoked his whole life and he was able to quit. I’m not saying go that route but just don’t write it off like they’re made for these younger kids. It takes a little bit to get use to but not bad. You kind of cough with each inhale at first but they say it’s because water molecules are larger than smoke. After a few days you get use to it. It’s a lot easier tapering off because you can adjust the nicotine level in small increments. I felt a million times better only after a few weeks.

Best of luck Kenny.

I dip a can a day. I will say by the end of the day my gum on the front is so sore i have to pull it on the side of my gums. Probably not a good thing but i dont want to quit :joy::joy:

Cant do flavored dips i like straight long cut. I dont mind it and will get a pinch every now and then from friends but i mostly dio after i eat something and im usaully full so i dont want any flavor lol. It also makes my acid reflux worse.

Oh man I loved kodiak but I dont want to go back.

I used to chew all day long for about 18 years. I am talking the only time I spit it out was when I was eating.

Place i used to work at had a freight truck driver that came in once in awhile. Pretty much his whole bottom jaw and mouth was removed because of mouth cancer. He had to have only ate through a straw. I was shocked because he still chewed. Top lip because that is all that he was left with.

Anyways I just knew that would be me. I failed a lot trying to quit. Patch was the only thing that worked. I think I did 2weeks with a full patch. To save money i then cut them in half and did that for 2 weeks. Then quarter pieces for like a week.
