8GPM Build

That is such a long belt I built all mine with 36’s

I am in Ontario, Canada. That unit is through a retailer in Canada, I believe they order the units through sprayer depot in Wisconsin.

I was hoping to buy the motor and the pump individually and put it together myself. I have been trying to find a solid video or document online that explains the process of combining the two units but have not been able to find anything concrete so far. Since I am new to the industry I figured it would be easier / smarter to buy the unit already pre built.

Also, our cad dollar is worth 30% less than the US dollar so maybe that’s why it seems so much more expensive?

Thanks

Do you run QC fittings straight off the pump? I’ve been thinking I should add them & keep a spare unloader all rigged up in the tool box for when something craps out.

Look into JIC female swivel and male nipple as an option for you which would get you a metal to metal seal

If you put it together by yourself, don’t put it on an aluminum skid.

I like 3/8" press braked steel plate but I “lift”

I’ll be adding a press brake kit to my shop press here shortly. First thing I’m building is gonna be a skid for my 5.5gpm machine. I’ve been running it on the aluminum skid that Russ sells and it hasn’t cracked or had any issues yet but it’s just a matter of time. That press brake is gonna be so handy to have around. I’m gonna whip up some bracketry to make my own automatic gate opener so I don’t have to get out of the truck lol

These guys like JIC fittings and I agree they’re great. However, I opted for quick connects pretty much everywhere I could put one. Male barb coming off the pump to a short (like 18") whip line that goes into the unloader block inlet. Then male barb on outlet of unloader block where the unloader mounts. Then male barb on outlet of unloader to whip line to injector on the swivel on the reel. Sorry for crappy picture but that machine is strapped to a pallet right now and I don’t feel like loosening the straps lol

Only thing I have to swap over for an unloader change out is the bypass hose and I got a great tip from Dez on how to go about that to make it much faster as well. Doesn’t take very long as is. Just have to loosen hose clamp at buffer and pull the hose off the barb there then take the fitting off the unloader and swap to new unloader. I keep spare unloaders already plumbed so takes like two minutes to swap one out.

I owe you guys a pot of chili & a keg of Cheerwine by now. @DisplacedTexan That’s a good photo! Go get yourself a pack of ‘gear ties’. They’re extremely handy. I have them all over the place.

You mean like these?

That green strap is just the tag end of the strap that’s holding the machine to the pallet. Just wrapped it around that so nothing would get caught under the tractor tire.

Exactly like those… unless you’re talking about the shoes haha. Those things are the perfect blend of zip tie & coat hanger. I thought your rig was loaded with frog tape at first glance.

Where in Ontario?

Currently in North Bay area. Hbu?

The only downside to those gear ties is the wire eventually rusts and becomes brittle. I used to use them to cinch all my poles together so they wouldn’t slide out of the PVC pipe I stored them in. Then one day the gear ties broke going down the road and I lost all my poles on the interstate…yeah. Thank God no one was anywhere near me. I recovered the poles. One was bent right at the end where the brush attaches but otherwise unscathed. I have since changed how I secure them lol

Ottawa area. Welcome.

Google translate is how you end up with stuff like this:

A few years ago i bought a generator and it said “lubricate with 4 stroke engine oil”
The french sticker translation said “lubrifier et caresser 4 fois”, literally to lubricate and then caress it 4 times.

Another one is a snow shovel. In english it said “snow pusher shovel” and in french " pelle de revendeur de drogues de neige". ( Shovel for snow drug dealer).
