8gpm at 1750 psi

Anyone ever use the machines built with 8gpm on the 13hp Honda? I see some distributors making these and claiming 1750psi. While it’s not the best combo, it’s an interesting option for smaller space areas. Any experience with these?

Thanks…

Kevin

I put a Briggs 16 hp on an 8 gpm udor. It lasted about 2500 hours. That’s a lot on the older model briggs. You will be fine add long add you don’t needed to surface clean anything.

That’s what I figured. Thanks. I’m thinking with 300 ft of hose I would be at about 1400 psi or so. I’m curious to see the affects of surface cleaning with these machines. I rarely use more then 1500 psi while using surface cleaning on residential. Did you ever use a surface cleaner with your 16hp 8gpm set up?

Thanks.

I don’t know. It was on one of the trucks that mainly did residential and it was 10 or 12 years ago. My mind gets foggy in details the older i get

May be good for downstreaming and house washing, but that’s about it. First you’re probably going to lose more than 300 psi and 2nd, even for residential you probably want at least 2000psi. I do a lot of concrete and normally run about 2300-2500 on resi.

I have always run 8gpm at 3000psi machines with 300 to 400 ft of hose consistently. I have to check again what I’m putting out with my surface cleaner, but I’m pretty sure it’s dialed in around the 1500 psi Mark. Im good with all my machines, but I really like the weight and space saving with these small machines. I guess just going ahead and getting one will be the true test.

Thanks

I think the chart is pretty close. I checked it on my 8.5 3500 and at the end of 200’ of hose am getting right at 2900 give or take 25 psi. Just out of curiosity, why are you running so much hose? I do some large homes with long drives and rarely go above 200. Carry an extra 100, but have rarely used. Let us know if you do get, would like to know the results and how it works for you.

I always run 300 standard on all my reels. Carry an extra 100 in case needed. I have my rigs set up for both commercial and residential. On residential I consistently run 200 and use all 300 on alot of jobs. When I’m at one of commercials 300 is a must and alot of times I have to bust out the extra 100ft. I like having the 300 on the reels even if I don’t use it for all jobs. Better prepared then not, and saves the hassle of connecting another line.

Kevin.
