5 or 5.5 gpm 3000 psi direct drive

Hi all,

I know belt-driven machines seem to be preferred here, especially for their ability to draw water from a buffer tank, but I wonder if anyone has a good first-hand recommendation for a 5 or 5.5 gpm direct-drive version.

If you have one which you’re really happy with, could you please share the make and model?

Thank you,
Nate

Just curious, why are you against belt drive?

I’d stay away from direct drive……gear drive or belt drive best for long term and pulling water from buffer tank.

Well, one problem is you won’t get 5/3000 or 5.5/3000 with a GX390. You’ll have to go with a V-twin or (maybe) squeak by with a larger single. At that point you might as well get the 8/3000.

Just maintenance and reliability for dirt-simple employee rig.
I’ve had good luck with my belted machines but know that they can stretch/break/etc. I’ve had 0.0% trouble with my direct-drives even through extreme neglect and 10k+ hours.

Hmm.
Thank you!

You could always get a gearbox and appropriate pump if you don’t like belt drives.
