3 Major Mistakes To Avoid On Google Adwords

Hey everyone, I hope you find this information useful if your thinking about starting or currently doing Google AdWords.

  1. Not setting up conversion tracking.
Without properly setting up conversion tracking you won’t know if your lead came in through your paid marketing efforts or just came through organically on your site. You also won’t know which are the money keywords you should be bidding more aggressively on. Make sure you set up phone call conversion tracking as well, as someone may not submit a form but rather give you a call instead.

  2. Not doing or not adding enough negative keywords doing negative keyword research.
Make sure you research on negative keywords. Go to google and just type in “power washing” for an example and you’ll get some ideas. The drop-down menu that comes up will give you some good negative keywords to use. “home depot” “lowe’s” “gun” “hose” “machine” just to name a few.

  1. Not making their ads relevant to their keywords.
You always want to make sure your ads are speaking to the user. This will make you more relevant and increase your quality score. For example, if you are cleaning roofs. make an ad group for roofs , that are triggered when someone looks up a roof cleaning service.

BONUS: Notice the word power is not in the user searched term. Think of how you would look up for your service! Ask family and friends for ideas!
