3 injectors leaking in same spot only hours after installing. Bad luck or just doing something wrong?

Alright so I’ve never had this problem but the last 3 ds injectors I’ve put on have started leaking right at the base of the barb only an hour or two after I’ve put them on. Am I just having a string of bad luck or does it look like I’ve done something wrong?

Is the hose leaking or the brass base of the barb? I found that 1/4" hose clamps suck. Use a heat gun on the hose before tightening the hose clamp. If its the brass barb through some tape on the threads and put it back in.

It’s not the hose it’s coming from the bottom of the barb. I just ordered 5 from pressure tek so I should be good to go.

Side note all 3 of these were from local shops with outrageous prices.

Try the pipe tape

So 3 in a row leak. It is your hose. The end has expanded on the barb. Replace your hose or at least, cut off about a foot use a barb splicer and put a fresh hose on the DS injector.

On top of what was already said, you can try fuel injection fuel line hose clamps. They are tailored for smaller hoses around barbs and get a little better seal than a traditional worm gear clamp like you are using. I am sure they make them out of stainless as I just found a pack of 10 on amazon for $14. May not be the same size you need but they are relatively cheap either way.

This doesn’t make sense to me. There should be SUCTION there. No pressure. I don’t understand what going on there…

If you’re leaking at the threads try something like permatex or swan seal. I’ve never been a huge tape fan.

You are right, there is suction, but if the hose is loose then it is possible it is sucking air in and not pulling chem. Just trying to help the mate out by process of elimination.

Cheers!

I was referring to the water spraying out in the pic, just strange to me.

So let’s ask this -

What is the specs of your machine and the spec of the DSI you are using?
