Any suggestions. Can you lower water intake.? Manual is no help
What size pump do you have?
How quickly does it run out?
What size plumbing from the spigot to the tank?
Running through a hose reel, if so which one?
What do you mean by “lower water intake”?
4000 psi, runs out in about 25 minutes. 100 feet of 5/8 hose supply
What is the GPM?
If it’s 8 gallons per minute. And you spray for 25 minutes. That’s 200 gallons. The solution would be add water or get a bigger water tank
8 gpm.
Just to be clear, you do use a hudson float valve and keep the hose on the whole time your washing?
The average home in my area puts out about 4gpm from their hose. I pull up, hook up their hose, while it is filling the tank I do all the doodads and whatnot to get ready. Then I start washing and usually the tank is full (I don’t normally empty it after every use unless I am going up and down the mountain).
So, if you are doing the same thing, you should not run out of water in 25 minutes. you start with a full tank, and while working you are inputting 4gpm x25 minutes =100 gal/8gpm = 12.5 extra minutes (not calculating the refill rate and time as it would be minimal).
Oh and just because your unit is sold as an 8 gpm doesn’t mean that is what it is using. DO a bucket test to know. Mine said 8 but it is really like 7.6 and it doesn’t put out the 4k it said. I also don’t get how you are on the gun non stop for 25 minutes, don’t you use dwell time?
this aint mathin
On a side note, do you ever go up to forked river? I know you jersey people think driving 20 miles is a long trip.
Agree with everything @Dirtyboy said. Unless you aren’t running water to the tank or the area that you work in has really low/slow flow, it sounds like something is restricting your buffer from filling up. Check the filter and diaphragm if using a Hudson, I’ve gotten bugs, leafs, other debris in mine and it’s hindered filling up the tank substantially. I removed some of the fins on the diaphragm as well and it’s been helpful, but I also have a filter between the buffer and machine to catch anything that gets through. If using a reel, disconnect the hoses and check the connections. If using a reel, does it bottleneck at the connectors? Using a pressure hose reel with 3/8" swivel will hinder flow as well, but probably not to the degree you’re seeing. While the hose is off run water through it to clear debris. If all else fails and none of those are issues, moving up to 3/4" might be beneficial.
