You can get one for just over 2000 after shipping. Me personally unless you do quite a bit of commercial concrete and have a 28in plus surface cleaner I would rather have a 5-5.5 GPM hot water unit and the 8gpm cold that way if you have a bigger job you can have two solid machines. Although one 8gpm hot machine is where it’s at I just don’t want to take a chance and it go out and I have a heavy week of work an end getting stuck using a 4 GPM machine then everything take twice as long then I have to push/move work around for 2-3 week because I got behind… Worse case senerio I guess.
I have 3 separate hot boxes we use. The beauty of the hot box is I have everything with quick connects so if I want to and it does happen once in awhile we can hook up a 4gpm to it and heat up the water in a NY minute. All of our hotboxes are 120v.
2 that I bought new from Envirospec which are Largo burners and one I bought used that is from Steel Eagle. I did have a hydrotek, Mi-TM, and Landa Hot water Powerwashers skids In the past that were all great, but when I started to put together my own machines I bought everything separate from the motors, pumps unloaders, burners and frames to fit the design and ratings I needed.
John T. I’ve been looking at those Largo Hot Boxes … How hot or much of a heat rise would you get running an 8 GPM through it … Is there any savings building your own skid or do you end of with the equipment of your choice
Hey Sean-- I saved a few bucks putting together my own skid & I built it to the exact specs I wanted.
For example the machine on the left I bought the 40hp Kohler for around $2500, the PW frame for $400, the 25 gallon plastic gas tank for $200 & the Largo for $2400(includes the $400 ship), I switch out the 11 gallon blue diesel tank with a 22gal blue diesel for addition $200 & the UDOR pump I paid about $1100 & is rated @10.5gpm@3600. So the total cost including the small stuff like the unloader/water filters/quick connects for this entire machine including the $100burner cap to keep the rain out cost aprox $7000 including all shipping which was free except for the Largo’s as stated above.
I needed everything built low so we can get in garages which is one of the reasons I put together my own skids. On the Largo’s I cut some of the legs a little shorter as well.
A rig like this would run you around $10,000 with these specs and it most likely would not be built in the size you really wanted at.
Also where else was I gonna get a hot water skid with a 40hp Kohler and a 10.5gpm UDOR pump anyway unless I built it myself:cool:
Heat rise is about 140-150 degrees with the Largo’s. Of course I also changed out the gas tips in there to get it to run hotter and get there faster because time is money.
