2 man crew washing procedures

Hey guys for the guys running two man crews, is
One way faster and if so by how much?. On a standard house wash is it better to have one guy applying chem and the other guy coming behind him rinsing? Or is it faster to have each tech soap and rinse opposing sides at the same time ( like one guy in the front and the other in the back) what are the pros and cons? And which was is faster and by how much. Thanks

Try it both ways and you tell me

I did a 2 story 1/2 brick 1/2 hardiplank house wash today 2500 sq ft, with a decent size driveway. Washed with my 5.5GPM and the 8GPM was used to clean the driveway. When the driveway was finished my tech rinsed as I finished soaping. Roll up to roll out was 1 hour 10 minutes.

Have done both. Splitting half and half works best in my experience. Less hoses getting tangled, less having to ask the soaper or rinse to touch spots up.

Do you have those two washers on one truck/trailer or two?

Both on the same truck.

I never grow tired of seeing a pic of your setup. Looks sharp as always.

Thanks man I appreciate that. She turns heads. Surprised the heck out of me they asked me to park her front and center in the demo area at the conference.

We have one apply cleaning solution and the other rinse behind. When the applier is finished going around the whole house they switch over to rinsing and go backwards until they meet the rinser.

They way I do it when I have a helper is, I go greet the home owner and do another walk around when the other guy is hooking up the water hose and pulling the pressure lines to opposite sides of the house. Both machines have a Schertzbox. We both wash and rinse opposing halves of the house. Then when I do a final walk around with the home owner, my helper is rolling up the hoses and putting everything away. Its crazy how fast we have gotten by doing this.

I like this, sounds as efficient or more than a solo guy like me.

Rarely send 2 guys to wash a home unless a 2+ story roof is getting done also. I find the labour is better spent at another location. Helpers next to an experienced tech is dead money in my opinion.

I am solo most of the time. If I get to busy and need to pack more jobs into a single day, I put those all on a saturday and get my helper to work. We can bust out most houses in 1 to 1.5 hrs. The fastest we have gone is a 2k sqft house in 45 minutes. That’s from parking the truck to driving away. And I spent a lot of time talking with the customer.

What type of siding? Vinyl? @WiscoWashPros

Two guys taking 1 - 1.5 hrs to wash a house? Are you doing windows too? That seems a bit long if i’m being honest. I Don’t know how long you’ve been at this but i know when i started it took me forever.

Interesting. No one has mentioned taping yet. So, am I correct in assuming that many of you do not tape off outlets, meters, keyholes, etc.?

Correct

Yep, pretty much the same, though I do agree with @MuscleMyHustle if just doing house washes with no add-ons, I think you’ll make more money having one man per house. In my experience, two washers only makes things about 1.5 times faster. It works well if one guy can wash the house and someone else does the deck, driveway, or gutters.

Honestly, i have never done it but am implementing it this season. The more I read about it the more i tell myself I should do it.

95% of the houses here in wisconsin are vinyl
