16 or 14 Ft trailer

Hey guys I just sold my 5x10 enclosed yesterday and going to buy my new one today. Any last minute thoughts, I was going with 16ft as of now. I just ordered my hot water skid 8gpm and I’ll be keeping my current setup with me, 275 tote and 35 gal SH tank and looking at 50-100 Softwash tank. As of now I’ve been doing residential

Please guys don’t respond if you have negative thought, although constructive ideas welcomed. I will not debate with anybody. Just looking for some advice, thank you and I wish you guys success!

I have been looking at 16 ft trailers simply because I have found a few new ones for like 100 bucks more than a 14 ft trailer. 14 ft is really all that you need from what I have seen though. My area is pretty simple to pull trailers around also, but that may be something you want to keep in mind. If your roads are super tight and congested then the shorter the better obviously.

16’ a standard size with most manf so usually 14’ going to cost about the same. I like my 14’ but it’s tight with a lot of stuff.

I was going to go with a 16 and possibly an 18 since most of my past history had been commercial flatwork. but @Racer brought up a valid point about size doing residential work. It’ll be hard in a lot of neighborhoods to maneuver a trailer bigger than a 14 and sometimes it’s difficult. 14 seems to be the best all around size. As far as running out of space you can always build up to conserve floor space. I’m about to put 5200 pound axles under mine and it’s not even a year old once I start adding a recovery system to divert runoff to landscape areas on my commercial sidewalks

LOL, I need a 3 rd story on mine. 2nd story about sold out.

Yeah I thought that was funny, I went to a local trailer company here, and the 14ft costs more than the 16ft m. Same 2x2 steel frame

Thank you gentleman for y’alls input. I’m going to see what kind of deal they can give me. I’ll keep group updated, I’m going to take measurements of everything I have with me just to play it out and see how I’m looking. I want the room but I know 16ft would be maybe a lot for residential

Even with 14’ you learn to hate houses in cul de sacs. I’m always blocking at least one driveway.

Another thing to consider is that when you go bigger the trailer itself weights more so less carrying weight.

Graph paper makes it easier. You can almost get it to the inch where everything will be

Okay guys. I went with the 16 foot, I figured I would grow into it. I ordered another surface cleaner couple hose reels from Pressure tek, so I’m gonna have my 4gpm, wands window stuff, and 2 surface cleaners, and Ibc tank and 8gpm psi bandit, comes with comet which I know isn’t as great but they gave me a 1 year no questions aske don it. Then I’m thinking getting udon.

I think my 14 is too big to maneuver but it’s not enough room for everything. Catch 22
