12volt Vs. 115volt pros and cons

Alright, guys with hot water experience, I’m upgrading to an 8GPM hot water machine from KEC or Pressure tek within the next 2 weeks and need to know what are the pros and cons to the burner types. Seems to be about a $500 difference in price (115v being more) but I’m not experienced enough to know what’s better and why. Any help is greatly appreciated.

We have had both. The 110v units just seem like they have less issues.

I think it has something to do the 12v system not being as stout as the 110v .

We prefer 110v.

I went with 110v because you can also run 110v accessories. Vac, lights and more.

Oh really…I didn’t know that. That’s probably worth the extra $500 right there.

Mine has 2 extra plugs on the generator for running extra equipment.

The 110v PW’s have a generator on them with an extra outlet or two which you can use for lights etc. Also a 12v system, if the battery loses just a little of it’s charging level during usage or it’s just not charge enough, the burner will not run correctly. Been there and done that and I swore off 12v burners because I can’t afford to have a job not work out right.

For the extra $500 it’s most definitely worth it to have a hot water 110v PW.

So with the 12V system does anything charge the battery while it’s running or do you have to charge it every few nights?

Oh right. Duh! Thanx Tim. I’m too caught up in the big purchase and getting scatter brained. What about engine size while were on it. They have GX 630 or GX 690’s and 3000 or 3500 psi. I think I’m sold on the GX690 and 3500 PSI unless you guys suggest other wise

If it was me I would go with the 3500psi PW because we run hundreds of ft of hose and you basically lose about 1 psi per foot when running long distance of hoses.
