12V Softwash Plumbing Question

I recently purchased the softwash system in the pictures for an incredible deal off FB Marketplace. The guy who sold it to me used it for his extermination company. It comes with a 3.6gpm pump, a hannay 1520-17-18 reel, and a 50 gal tank. The hoses are spira lite 1/2” and the connections are all Fosters with a fair amount of 90 degree elbows and quick disconnects.

I was going to clean the tank out, replace all of the plumbing, hoses, and use this setup to batch mix.

I want to replace the pump with a 7GPM Delevan/Remco and I wanted to mount the pump where the current pump is and then I’ll run a 12V battery off to the side.

I was thinking of running a 1” ID of either flex tech rt from the tank to the pump for the inlet side. The guy who had this tank installed a PVC pipe to the bulkhead fitting pictured and then ran a quick connect setup to draw from. Could I replicate this with the 1”ID supply hose? Or should I replace that bulkhead fitting to one where I can just run a drop-stick in? Something about clamping the 1”ID hose to the bulkhead and have it draw through about 2-3 feet of PVC pipe doesn’t sound right but it seems to have worked for the previous owner of this setup with a much weaker pump.

For the outlet, I was going to run a 5/8” flex tech rt or non compressible hose to the Super Swivel. Then I’ll run 200 feet of Flex Tech RT on the reel.

Any suggestions?

I’m trying to follow along with what you’re saying… you are talking about putting a quick disconnect or drop stick in #2? If you’re only using this for a dedicated 12v system why not just plumb through #1 like it currently is? or what am I missing?

You’re right, I was trying to plumb through #2. Replumbing #1 gives me pause because the two 90 degree elbows to make the connection into the pump. Thought this was a no-no

Take off those 90s and just put straight barbs.

The whole thing looks rough to me. I’m not a veteran on here, but I’ve never bought one piece of pressure washing equipment used. The pump you’re not going to use, the reel had poison running through it, the hose and connections look like garbage. Don’t let someone dump their garbage on you like that. I sear to god I had a tank fly out of my truck, get hit by an f350 and it has one scuff mark on it. That tank you have looks like utter trash. Get some new equipment and take all that dump.

Okay, after reviewing the comments and speaking to Lori at PWP, I will swap the reel to an 18” Hannay, repurpose this reel to become my supply hose reel (which I won’t run water thru), and replumb #2 with the appropriate sized ID hoses.

Thanks everyone!
