12v Soft Wash Build - Ballin on a budget

It’ll all get changed in due time… I’m growing extremely fast as it is and don’t need all the flashy objects. Methodical and debt free.

please post pictures of the build of the metering system!

I’ll try to remember but I can’t handle the “constructive criticism” that I’ll get haha.

As long as you peeled off all the UPC stickers off every fitting you should be good. Will at least in my book haha

Remove the top part and buy a proper side ladder rack for cheap cheap cheap. The picnic table is a bad look and can be easily fixed.

Where on Earth would he set the ketchup and mustard though??

Good point @dperez.

Didn’t you solder them first ? :disappointed:

No way Jose, that would have to be the worst connection. You could solder AFTER but there’s no need and you would create a hard spot that could crack after too much vibration. And besides Aviation, NASA and military spec devices follow the strategy of proper crimp with no soldering.

Interesting, we’ve always soldered and no crimping when I worked on the top fuel cars at nhra. @dperez

Don’t get me wrong I solder a lot just not everything. Top fuel you say?? :money_mouth_face:

Never been but I want my heart to stop from the concussion some day. I want to die right there with a big grin on my face!

My little brother wanted to take me earlier this month. He told me he paid $90 a ticket and I was like nope just can’t do it when I could buy me a few more swivels to stock on my shelves

Used to work the top fuel circuit, drove the rigs all over the US and Canada and was the piston slinger and crank bearing dude. Called us bottom end guys. Young mans job. But it was a blast in my 20’s and early 30’s@dperez.
You gotta go atleast once in your life man. TV doesn’t do it justice. definitely a heart thumping experience. 0 to 334 mph in a 1/4 mile with 8000 hp running on Nitro methane with no coolant is an act of GOD. I still can’t fathom how they hold together at 5gs. Mind blowing!

That’s cool man but we all know why they called you the bottom end guys Jaja. Those are some ridiculous machines man. Still can’t “understand” how it’s friggin possible to hit a 100 miles per hour in LESS than a second from a dig. I like to think I’m pretty savvy when it comes to mechanics but I fell like I’ll never “understand” those demons. Just mind boggling!

It truly is. I’ve seen those billet aluminum hemi’s turn to scrap metal to many times. them boys got deep pockets

CNC machined billet aluminum blocks! source

In all honesty, they basically are rebuilt after every run. New rod bearings, crank bearings, pistons, whole rebuilt heads just slapped on, blower re strung, new back tires, whole new clutch pack. And that’s if nothing goes wrong, if the crank got burnt up, we swapped the whole short block. we got 75 minutes to do it till the next round. Friggin exhausting

And I’m over here trying to figure out how to get all my$2.40 3/8 SS female nipples to last a few weeks longer lol

But they keep running the same head studs right?

Yes, unless the head guy strips one. New copper gaskets get changed around dictated by the weather and humidity
