I’m trying to diagnose what happened to my Everflo 7gpm pump. I’ve verified the battery is good, the switch is fine, fuses are good and swapped just in case. Wiring is good and shows voltage.
I saw a guy on YouTube mentioned the relay on his was bad after rain exposure so I pulled it, but it doesn’t seem to be damaged in any way. I do t know how to test it, but automotive relays which this seems to be based on have a definitely ‘click’ you can feel when energized. This one doesn’t.
I’m headed to Autozone to get another one, just curious if any of you have ideas what else I can check before tossing another $230 pump.
I’ve noticed a decline in everflo products this year. I’ve used the 5.5 and usually go through 1 or 2 a season. This season it’s been like 5. And I’ve been rinsing them religiously

Do you not have a meter to test the output of the relay? You should carry one or two spares anyways. I’ve had 2 die on me in the last couple years. Last one actually failed stuck on and my poor pumps were pegged out over 130 psi and water leaking out of them! Luckily I got the power disconnect fairly quick and the pumps are fine
I use flojet and had pretty good success….

Update:
I clipped the pos/neg wires to the pump and touched them to a good battery and it works fine with the original relay. Looks like I’ll be reworking the whole switch and wires to the battery. Yay.
Here’s the culprit specifically, broken connection on the wire going to the negative battery terminal.
