$100-$250 in free HomeAdvisor lead credits

I know HomeAdvisor is a contentious subject and it’s no secret that I think it’s been a financial windfall for my business. I’ve never asked for anyone signing up for the referral credit. A few who have signed up have graciously given me the referral credit and despite not asking for it I’m really grateful for it. So here goes, my local HomeAdvisor rep texted me this afternoon asking if I knew of anyone interested.

I told him a couple of you, who’ve messaged me privately added my name as the referrer, but I haven’t received the credit. If you signed up within the last couple weeks we’re going to try to get you $100 in free credits. Message me again. No catch. I just need your business name and business phone number so they can look you up.

If you’re interested in HomeAdvisor, Shawn from the Lenexa, KS office is willing to drop the the sign up fee from $349 to $288 and is going to give you $250 in lead credit to get started.

NOW, If you’re still doing your due diligence and researching your market and aren’t completely comfortable signing up DON’T. But if you do sign up by Saturday COB (DEADLINE), full disclosure, I also get $200 in lead credits.

Here’s the thing. I don’t care if I get the credits or not. But if you have been considering HomeAdvisor, done your due diligence, and the cost is what has kept you away this may be a good opportunity to try it out. If you’re interested message me.

Did they end up giving you the initial credit for the original referrals?

Tomorrow morning. He called me from his cell phone as he was leaving the office.

Well that’s a plus. I’m trying to convince myself becuse its basicly free to try at this point. Even just for commercial.

Those are my favorite. HomeAdvisor just started doing “opportunity leads” where they send it out to 2-3 contractors and let them decide if they want it rather than shotgunning leads out like usual.

I don’t understand why they charge a sign-up fee. Essentially they are a middleman and or a mild broker. I was a broker for wind energy components and I never charged an upfront fee for the people that worked for me, just after the fact. They would send their invoices to me I took a cut and paid them. I know it’s slightly different, but I still feel like if they’re making commission that they shouldn’t have an upfront fee.

Whether you decide to take leads or not they have an SEO advantage. And they know it. I pay the annual fee (same as sign up) because I get people who call me directly because they find my profile. No lead fee if they find your profile and go to your website. At this point I pay for most leads with credits earned. They also set you up in 411 with an 800 number.

At a certain point you could essentially use HA for free and I think they understand that. Hence the annual fee.

I am considering signing on in the spring. I’m just so put off by how they have treated me when they have called before… I have thumbtack and I get tons of leads but they are either too fat or for “painter” even though I am not listed as a painter.

Can I find all this on their website? Or more of a rep thing? I kinda need it spelled out in crayon to understand the nuances. I’ve done thumbtack and porch in the past and felt like I royally got stiffed spending about $500 in each. Leads never answered or turned ot to be something totally different or what have you. I’m very interested they just all seem a little sketchy.

On thumbtack you can turn off the associated jobs. They’ll still send you jobs from too far away though!

I’d be really interested but not going into fall and I don’t have everything fleshed out quite yet. Great offer though for those that are ready!

I’d like to try home advisor but I should probably wait til next spring.

Ok… so I’ve been calling homeadvisor regularly trying to track down lead credits and more recently started receiving bad and duplicate leads which was everyone’s primary complaint. I hadn’t really experienced it. Lately, it’s been increasingly more difficult to get fake leads credited.

HA gave me a lay up. Shawn, the original guy who promised the lead credits messaged me via the business facebook page asking if I’d be willing to talk to a guy in Knoxville considering HA. It felt like Christmas. I was going to ask about the fake leads and where all the lead credits were. Long story short, he couldn’t get the other guy on the phone so I told him where I was on everything and told him it’s been about 4 months since I could recommend HA in good conscience. Oh… and I’ve been recording and filming phone calls to HA for the past couple months. Oh… and I’m recording this call right now via Tape A Call AND web cam…

If they still owe you lead credits, I’ve got them by the short and curlies and should expect a resolution tomorrow. Mark, Dan, Patrick (Monique), and Chris S… if you haven’t seen sight nor sound of your lead credits and they don’t call you in the next few days, let me know and post the videos and audio to YouTube.

Lastly, I called last week to ask for a refund, not credits for 1 fake lead, 1 wrong job lead, and 1 duplicate lead. I got stonewalled and when I asked for the supervisor, I’m about 90% certain he just transferred my call to the guy in the cubicle next to him. That audio is pretty priceless, but I’m saving those in case litigation is required.

So you heard it here first… And some of you are probably pumped to hear it. Lol I don’t blame you. But HA finally does what HA does to me too.

for that exact story is why I canceled Home advisor years ago. Got 3-4 bad leads in 1 week. 1 lead had the work done 3 months prior to me receiving the lead from another HA provider and 2 didnt have a working phone number and one just never flat out answered the phone or responded to me after repeated calls. I usually called the lead within 3 minutes of receiving it.

I hate HA.Stay far away from them…

I had it with HA when they wouldn’t refund me a lead that said to send 2 girls to his house to give a back rub. The guy actually put that in the message and HA didn’t want to refund me , I’m like I run a window cleaning business, I’m not a pimp
