What kind of roof cleaning pump are you using?

Has anyone ever used Sun Brite’s super roof clean? They say it’s a replacement for the use of bleach. I’ve used 12.5 sh on all roof jobs until now.

Jacksonville flood cleanup service

It is sodium hydroxide, which is a lot cheaper to buy by the bag at your chemical supplier.
You have to PRESSURE WASH the roof after applying a strong degreaser to an asphalt product.
You have to use a brush and scrub the shingles!?

From the instructions: “Be very fussy on the street side of the roof to remove all stains. Remember that excessive agitation affects the life of the roof. Your customer may approve of not scrubbing that (less visible) back-side of the roof quite as much. Homeowners are usually looking for “curb appeal”, so spend the most time and energy where it counts the most - on the street side of the roof.”

Are you kidding me?

Delavan 5850…like some other guys on here…I don’t clean roofs everyday either…but I love it so far. Could use some more GPM but it isn’t bad.

Dumb Question, what is the accumulator?

http://pressuretek.com/flactamo30.html

Think of a hard plastic vessel. Maybe one liter in capacity. Inside is a super duty rubber balloon with a few pounds of pressure in it. As your pump runs, it fills the tank, compressing the air inside the balloon. If you need just a little flow, say to cut in close to the edge with a feather trigger, the balloon pushes the mix back out of the vessel so that the pump doesn’t rapidly turn on and off. Rapid on and off (short cycle) is the death of these little electric pumps.

The accumulator is the life vest that we were missing for so many years.

If I don’t have a problem with short cycling…would I still need an accumulator?

You can use smaller orifice tips with an accumulator without burning the pump, too.

Here’s an article on roof cleaning pumps that I wrote for eClean Magazine.

Just purchased a new fatboy bandit. So far so good. Keep you posted.

The Bandit is an awesome roof cleaning machine. You’re going to love it.
Keep us posted!

We use the twin pump system from Powerwashstore.com. Probably going back to the fatboy or with the pentaflex next season as these pumps haven’t been very reliable for me. Great service from Paul and Bill though.

We actually have both Fatboy from Bob and the duel pump from Paul.

On this topic, I got the idea of running 2 delevans together for a high output plant rinsing machine…thoughts?

Good idea I guess but what will you be using to apply roof chem? Most times you will be doing both applying roof chem and rinsing at the same time.

Better to use PW for plant rinse and leave the 12v for roof chem applications

Probably a fatboy for chems, then the 2 smaller delavans for the ground guy…

Thats what I currently have my ground guy doing is rinsing plants with the PW…was just thinking of another setup I could do

Delevans aren’t made for continuous duty.
You will burn them up.

Been there, tried that, great idea, (we) couldn’t get it to work. I had read about early roof cleaners doing dual pumps but when we tried it with fat boys, we couldn’t get it to work.

I do have a 5 1/2 hp honda with gear reducer on it that will get a hypro roller pump for 10 gpm rinser at not over 300 psi. Someday.

I am using pressure cleaning to clean roofs. But after some time gap I try to hire some professional services

We have both 12v and the All-Flo.
