Welders assemble!

There ya go… it’s a lot of fun and an awesome feeling to fab/build your own equipment.

Never need to apologize to me. I hijack threads all the time. LOL what’s good for the goose is good for the gander I guess.

And it was fun imagining cars with spikedq bumpers and mad max contraptions on.

@Innocentbystander got some new toys. Been practicing with a Lincoln weldpak on the 120v with flux core and stuck quite a bit of metal together that’s lasted long trips on the highway and supported quite a bit of weight.

I’m no pro, but I’d say I’ve gotten to “not so bad”.

Got the 240 outlet up and ready, leased a gas cylinder, and sprung for the Hobart. Busy day tomorrow, but my buddy who’s a welder in Utah is in town for this next week and he’s gonna give me some of his time here.

Next thing you know, I’ll be building bridges.

I need a bigger cart…

Nice! A buddy of mine has a Hobart mig and loves it. You’ll like the shielding gas much better than flux core. A welder is piece of equipment no shop should be without. As you know, once you have one you wonder how you lived without it. I have a stick and tig machine but definitely want a mig. At work we mainly stick and tig weld mainly because we can run welding lead or tig hose 200’ to get back into areas we need to reach. We usually use mig if welding on tanks though.

Let me know how you like the gas compared to the flux core.

Feel free to message me if you have questions. I have worked pipeline and structural in the past.

Been the story of my spare time life lately
