Washing Around powerlines connecting to house?

Most of our homes down here have them. I had one incident at a church where the insulation was corroded and when my mix ran down it the salt in the water caused it to produce a nice arc between the two lines and had to get the power company out. I normally grab a pump sprayer around it with hot mix and rinse quickly like with a mist.

That is my dilemma, just doing my house and not sure if i should call electric company to shut off for about 2 hrs. Yeah, I can understand why it would not work for you.

I wouldn’t worry about turning it off. Between us all on here we wash tens of thousands of houses a year and rarely is there every any issue. Just get some painters tape and tape up the joint on the meter box, outlets, light fixtures, keyholes, etc. Just use caution and you’ll be okay.

Your over thinking it. Wash around it. Over spray will make light work of cleaning around your concerned areas.

Unnecessary in my opinion. Just be cautious and heed the advice already given. BTW what the he k are you washing? Looks like you need a painter instead.

Washing off the old paint, using huge plastic tarp to capture paint chips. Did the front of house, it worked, but messy. Thank you for your input

Ah ok I get it now.

Most of us on here are professionals that use the low pressure downstream method for housewashing. I see you’re getting up there in person and blasting off the paint.

We have to worry a little more because bleach is partly salt, which is highly conductive.
