Us half crazed rubber scrubbers even carry one @dcbrock

You hillbillies hardly know how to use indoor plumbing so I don’t see how you’ll be able to use a digital tds meter. Maybe if it had one or two buttons but that one has three.

Reviving an old thread, but there’s some good info in here so I didn’t want to start a new one.
Vinyl Windows - like the actual “glass” part is really a sheet of vinyl. I’ve come across them on sunrooms that are added onto a home and until you touch them or are told by someone what they are you’d think they are just regular glass window panes. BUT, these vinyl panes CANNOT be cleaned like regular windows with just simple house wash mix. The ones I’ve come across specifically declare not to use any bleach on them.
This morning’s wash job had me cleaning a sun room (well, the whole back side of the home to also include the inside/outside of a sunroom) and fortunately the homeowner was able to remove most of the windows before I arrived. However, there were a few left that couldn’t be easily removed so I had agreed to cover them with plastic sheets and painters tape. I spent more time prepping the inside and outside of three windows than what it took to wash the whole back of the home. But, the customer was happy and had no problem agreeing to the price I had already set with them knowing exactly how much of a hassle it was going to be.
The job entailed washing all trim work of the rear of the home, gutter brightening, a paver patio clean, and the inside/outside of the sun room in which they profusely smoke in leaving orange staining on everything on the inside. Once the vinyl windows were prepped, I wanded the patio, a standard housewash mix was applied to everything else, allowed to dwell and then rinsed off. Gutter brightener was applied with a brush on a pole, and then a final rinse of everything including landscape. Once I pulled down the plastic and tape from the vinyl windows, I did spray 409 and used the blue shop towels (both provided by homeowner) to clean them. The homeowner had already cleaned all 40-something other vinyl panes that were taken down the day before and stored in their garage. Customer was thrilled and I collected my cash and left.
Below are some photos of what the manufacturer of this particular sunroom shared with the homeowner, who in turn shared them with me.
I know exactly what you’re talking about….we do window cleaning too and we no longer clean these, pain in the butt. But yeah you don’t suppose to get any harsh chemicals on them, not good. If I wash a house with these the homeowner has to remove or we don’t go near them. Good information though for sure……thanks.
