Thank you. Do you use some sort of template or do you just write something like,
“Good afternoon Mrs. Smith, This is Bobby from Bob’s Pressure Washing Inc. To do a house wash on your home at 200 Windy Lane, Jonestown, PA 12345 the cost will be $350. Please get back to me at your earliest convenience to confirm so we can set up a date and time. Thank you & have a good day.”
I am in the process of making estimate/receipt sheets (theyre both going to be on the same page) but i dont have microsoft word therefore i just have to print them out at the local library.
I agree. I have found far more success having “flat rates” then trying to price per foot or whatever. Figure out what you would want to be paid for different types of houses, as @Patriotspwashing said, and stick to it. You will have some houses that are super easy and fast, and some that are difficult, but if you price it right they will all even out.
I also find that if you tell a potential customer that their house “falls under our standard 2-Story Rate” people rarely try to negotiate.
I am also trying to get into the habit of asking people to text or email me pictures of their home. Most are easily able to do this. If you don’t see anything out of the ordinary. Give them the standard price.
Your local county auditor might have that info. Just google search the name of your county and state and the word auditor or property records.
I just looked up a house I am going to later today for a quote. My county auditor page not only showed me sq foot of house, but also showed a sketch showing the size of the garage, front patio and back patio. 324, 160 and 220.
You can also use google maps to measure distance (easier on a pc than a phone imo)
“To start using the new distance-measuring tool, right click on any point on your map, and select “measure distance.” Then click on another point on the map to create a path, and you will see the distance between the selected points.Jan 2, 2018”
I use this to help me figure flat work square feet. I expect by next spring I will be able to eyeball and price it, but right now I am pricing flatwork at sq ft by measuring using the google maps or auditor site info as much as possible.
