Unloader help needed

I’ve received printed instructions with all three of the unloaders I’ve bought—where did you purchase yours from?

I’ve never seen anything but a steady, unbroken stream from the bypass, no matter the GPM or PSI of the pump. A 5% bypass seems pretty substantial, especially running through a 3/8" line, so I guess that checks out.

I didn’t get them from the kentucky store or the ohio store.

So, before it started raining again, i changed the oil in my truck, then went back to the ole grindstone. Apparently I threw away my red tip, so I went and used my wood tips to dial it back in to where they were, 1000 and 1200 ( I mainly do PT lumber). Probably not the best way to go about things, but my m5 is still giving me right around 800 - 900 psi, which is where it was before. I didn’t check the reach vertically. It feels close to where it was, but just not there.

Lovely thing, while checking the unloader while on the gun and off the gun, I noticed my fittings are leaking while on the trigger. This is getting to be a mess. I had it in the vice and assembled it. Geez, my back is sore from working in that 1.5 foot area I have to work in between the unit and the tank. I’m not messing with that tote until the end of the season when I strip the underside of my trailer frame.

I might have missed it, but what size machine are you running?

Amazing the magic that can happen when you read the directions, lol. Post a pic, of how you’ve got mounted. Where are you getting leaks from?

marketed as 4k/8gpm, but we know that isn’t right. Probably more like 7.5/3.2-3.4

I went to a store further away today and bought a whip line an SS reducer, then made Quick disconnects at each end and removed some of the “plumbing” I had acquired at the other store. I bought new pipe dope and some new tape. Leak free…on that side. THe other side just has one small drip now (while on the gun), but I am going to replumb that when I get more of the one kind of QD and another whip line. Next time it will just be disconnect lines, unscrew old unloader, screw in new unloader, reconnect and I’m trucking. Figures, the one fitting I needed was the only kind I didn’t have 10 of.

That plumbing from BCE was rock solid, thank god I’m fat and could lean into the pipe I was using as a breaker bar. I wonder if they use one to put them together, or if they hire olympic athletes. Since you sit on the Board  there, maybe you can tell them they are a smidge tight.

LOL, I feel your pain. They had serviced my old machine about a year ago that sits on my trailer now. I went to change my oil which I’ve done 16 times on it with no problem, and they had put the drain line cap on so tight, that 2 of us, one being my young helper who’s stronger than an ox and we never could get the cap off, even with heat and a small breaker bar. I had to order a new one and cut the line on the old one, to drain the oil. Then remove the battery box to get to where it came out of the base of the machine, etc. I just usually barely snug them on or just tighten with my fingers. It was ridiculous.
And of course they sent me the only one they have now where the machine sits further forward on the skid and with my older model, the line is 2" short from making it to the edge on my skid. A problem to deal with in another 100 hours, lol. A simple oil change which I did in 10 min on the other machine mounted on back of trailer, we spent 2-3 hours on, and cost me new line plus freight.

I keep two pipes in my garage for breaker bars for my tractor, one is about 2.5’ and the other is 4’. Had to use the 4’ one. Geez.

Called them today, talk to a tech guy, he said the reason they are so tight is because they probably put loctite on the fittings.

I’m probably buying another 8gpm unit, seeing if they will put the zk1 on there instead of the trapped pressure unloader. Got any discount codes or code words, should I mention you for a big discount

They will for sure put it on. All I’ve ever gotten. Sorry, can’t help on the latter. Got to keep those profits up, lol., I wish.
