Did you take your own pictures I think we have had this conversation before about taking pictures before and after. Pressure definitely could have donr the damage but without documentation how would you know

Pressure damage wouldn’t look like that. I took a few pictures but didn’t look close enough to see the cracks or the low quality paint used on the door.

I forget these 90% of the time. Actually i have more pictures when im working with rick than my own business. Im guessing when working with him i have far less responsibilities and have time to even think about it lol. When im doing my thing i have way more on the mind then taking pics.

Also hes taking pics too. Hes just has his work so organized… He can literally pull up to a job and state the exact time we will be driving off. Not 2:30 or 2:15 im talking 2:23 :joy::joy::joy: its impressive.

I usually just take pictures of damaged stuff prior to getting started and a few of measures preventing hazards like tape outlets, doors, or bagging stuff. I’ve never got in the habit of just taking pictures of the entire house but that would have been great for this particular situation.

If you have to fix it, why give refund?

I’m not planning on refunding

Ya i wouldnt have thought to take a picture of the front for fear of damage. I do take pictures of holes in vynal and common sense stuff i think i coukd be blamed for but most of the time i want pics of before and after. I have noticed now that most people maybe look at some parts of thier house once a year and after its washed they go around looking at all these spots and see stuff they have never looked at. Im positive you didn’t cause this damage. You may have made it more visible though.

I applaud your attitude dealing with this situation. You learned something about paint and interacting with difficult people. I bet this time next year you’ll be noticing this stuff without having to even think about it. Knowledge, experience and attention to detail separates quality contractors from the crappy ones. Maybe it’s a blessing and they’ll be lifelong customers referring you to their friends.

I take pictures of everything. After I knock on the door if the homeowner is home we take a walk I like to point out things ask them a few questions about the home and take pictures. This does a few things it starts a dialogue if it’s a new customer and makes them feel better about a new contractor. Gives me the chance to start working on a up sell as I point out prior damage and take a picture. I always offer to sent them pictures. And they get to see me tape or bag things.

If they are not home I always walk around take a pictures send them a few to let customers know I’m at the residence. And so they can shut down ring doorbell for a hour if they want to. Then repeat when I leave. Yes it’s time consuming but I would bet the amount of up sells will be worth your time.

Agreed. I do all that. Just didn’t notice the hairline cracks or the low quality paint. I’ll probably take a closer look next time but I’m leaning more towards this being a customer problem. Luckily most are not this clueless when it comes to substrates, paints, and aging. I’ll take the blame for the door even tho there’s not much I could have done differently.

Thanks. It’s definitely a learning experience. Hopefully it’ll be noticeable next time. At the very least I’ve learned how to explain why the cracks are there due to aging and thin coats. Gotta take it all in stride and keep making money and growing.

Kwit washing in the lower 9th ward @Harold. Ain’t no money there. :joy:
Humor, only humor sir

Take a pic of that ole coot and post it on put face to name thread.

Lol money is money. I’d rather wash 10 houses over the mansions any day, but I’ll do both. My friendly advice is to keep your blower locked up in the 9th ward. I might be speaking from experience.
