I use mine for paint prep a lot. Most basements around me, especially the older coal houses, have either parged cinder block or old stone foundations with multiple layers of paint on it. I blast it with a turbo and it is pretty close to paint ready. I give them a no chip pickup price and a chip pickup and cleanup price, they all choose the no chip pickup price (they mulch into their yards). They normally paint it themselves. It’s an add on I do on older homes. Sometimes they have me paint it.
It’s dirty work, but pretty fast to do. I use it on step faces for concrete steps on hillsides, super fast, normally a pass and the face is done, up to next face, etc. Their normally black from coal soot. I never get “clean” concrete to do.
I come across jobs with lots of organic growth on concrete walls, weeds growing in paver joints and edges of retaining walls etc.
Also a lot of people in my area use boulders either as decorative or retaining walls that come from a local quarry that start out a beautiful blue green color and quickly turn black in the rainy damp Pacific NW.
Usually these boulders border lawns, flower beds, shrubs and sensitive landscape- using SH wouldn’t be ideal.
I found the best way to clean is w a turbo nozzle- but let my son do the dirty work
Don’t use the turbo often, couple times a year- but nice to have it on the trailer when I do
The zk1 is different, To increase your pressure the screw needs to be twisted out more not in. I have mine backed out pretty much all the way. Do this and see if it still surges. And with an 8gpm machine you should have a #9 turbo
I did that, didn’t seem to change anything. I’m headed to Southside later to get another turbo and see if that fixes things. It was the first time using it since I got the ZK1.
Russ hooked me up with the correct turbo. It’s easily twice the size and weight. I tested it tonight and holy cow is it powerful. Like you guys mentioned the last one must have been bypassing the unloader somehow. They couldn’t even figure out what GPM it was for, probably 4?
