Iāve got two of those ladders, the 18 foot one is great, the 24ā one is almost unmanageable.
Yeah, tongue weight should amount to about 10% of the total trailer weight. For me that means about 80-100 lbs on the hitch, lol.
If the trailer is back heavy with a negative tongue weight, or perfectly balanced with zero tongue weight, you can end up fishtailing/jackknifing if you get into a panic swerve/braking situation. The mass of the trailer will actually lift the back end of your truck and whip it around.

did the trailer come with brakes or did you do an add on?

Itās a 5x10. I added the brakes but honestly it didnāt make that big of a difference.
Yea, thatās why I was saying I like to keep weight on my tongue. I like my truck to squat just a little when I hook the trailer up. I putting that new king nipple on this weekend btw. small world bro. This site is a lot better than that fb one. All they want to know is how much to charge for jobs and post pictures lol
