Temperature and bleach

What cleaner are you using?

Simple Cherry and 12.5 and some won’t believe it but the 12.5 has been sitting since Nov.

F13 works great in the cold you just have to add a little glycol ether Eb, did some gutters yesterday in the 40’s worked like a charm getting the black streaks out.

Hey all,

Speaking of temperature, John you said you “had to hit some really bad spots 2xs”. I did a house wash this week - the temperature was in the high 40’s I believe. (I’m using a cold-water unit). Some of the bad spots I had to hit 3-4 times, and let dwell for a looong time. I got to thinking that maybe toying with the mix might be the answer for next time. But then, that feels like a bad idea somehow.

So that’s my question: can the cold temperature be compensated for with a stronger mix? My next house wash is toward the end of the month, and has lightly oxidized aluminum siding… :frowning:

Yeah, you can compensate with a stronger mix.

Below 40 we just ds straight 12.5 and fresh wash. Ain’t nobody got time to hit twice!

Thanks for the responses guys!

Washing here in 28 on Thursday… I DS straight with roof snot and a generous dwell time and had no issues meeting the usual standard.

Brushing the surface can also before you rinse. I’ve done it in colder temps also. It does help.

Wow! What a great thread! Had so many questions answered. I was gonna use my burner, but I cannot control the temp so I was skeptical. Glad I don’t have to

I did a house wash today on a filthy dirty/algae/infested little rancher with vinyl and stucco in a heavily wooded area and I DS with a soap tip straight 12.5 and used a truck and bus wash in a pinch and it seemed to work great. Maybe someone can help me here for what my ratio actually ended up being for future jobs. I used a 3 GPM 3000 PSI Unit. It was my first time doing a HW and I’m really happy because of all the great info from this forum. Home owner couldn’t stop with how great the gutters turned out. Just have to work on the mossy roof once the rain stops

If your D.S.ing use 2 or 3 gall of SH depending on the algae level. Rest of the 5 er gets filled with water. 6 oz of surfactant.

Ok I get that but my question was what the percentage on the wall be with this pure 12.5 and no water added other than the DS…???

60 degrees shouldn’t be what is causing the problem.

Woops, I didn’t see that this thread is 4 pages long.
