Surfactants vs Detergents? Also SESW Worth it?

That ratio would mean about a gallon of the 4:1 diluted for 16 gallons of SH… maybe that’s where things got confused

We’ve used Cleansol BC on a couple of vinyl houses. Basically HW, then wash it a couple more times with the mix (we x-jet it) and maybe double the dwell time each pass. Most times when people get the quote they say “nah, just wash it, it’s fine”

We’ve gone to Mango Mauler, largely because it comes in super concentrated, easier to handle packaging. Maybe you’d be able to get that shipped to you. I think our ratio is one 80oz bag to 50 gallons of water, then that goes into the tank on the truck to the proportioner.

I used to have to dump 6-7 buckets of whatever we had before into a tote to mix the surfactant, now I just have to squeeze 5 bags in there, and it’s easy to keep 1-2 on the shelf, unlike buckets.

For oxidation, I’ve just downstreamed with an 8 gpm. Worked fine. I cut it 2:1 or 3:1 (so that it’d be a little stronger than they recommended) and the one I did about a month ago, it just melted right off.

Yeah, our whole system is built-in now, so it’s not like we can drop a stick into a carboy of it anymore. I guess I could setup a 2nd one so they could do that, but they keep all our old x-jets for deactivating, so they have it onboard anyway…

Gotcha.

Used surfactant all day today and was happier about washes. I know to be cautious about the materials we use it on. That’s kinda why we went without for a while o guess.

Depending on what surfactant you’re using, be cautious about letting it dry on windows unless you want to hand wash them… otherwise standard dwell times and it should be fine.

That’s one thing I really like about Elemonator, if I get sidetracked and let my hw mix dry on a window, I just hit it again and it rinses right off. It really does a great job on windows and dries streak free almost all the time.
