Suggestions on set up for beginner

I believe many get the cam locks from tractor supply. Surfactant will definitely help. I like the idea of the setup. Room for upgrade but organized and out of sight out of mind. But you said hoses were stolen. While working or before you started covering it all? The needing more gas meaning gotta fill the washer i assume? Or should be carrying a second can.

Yeah the washer would always run out after maybe 3ish hours, then id have to fill it back up. They were stolen while I was in, I think Walmart, running an errand before working. I didn’t Have to cover then, but it’s really one of the main reasons I got the cover. An added benefit is that I don’t ever have to take the unit out if I go anywhere not working.

I definitely like having open space in the bed. Mainly because it’s less stuff I have to climb around and gives me the chance to move smaller stuff.

I’m looking into trailers, but I just recently moved into an appartment, so it’ll be a while, before I figure it out.

Be careful not to leave the magnetic signs on for too long, they will ruin the truck paint. Move them around and be sure they are clean before putting them on. Also, they aren’t rated for highway driving and the last thing you want is your giant business card flying off and hitting a motorcycle on the Interstate.

As a motorcycle rider myself that makes me cringe. Ouch.

I hardly go anywhere that requires interstate travel other than to Greenville. I believe it came off on a 2 lane back road. I went up and down looking for it but I guess they cleared trash that day. This was like 6 months ago and still haven’t gotten a call about it.

The last thing Id want is for it to hit someone. My best friend rides, and I’d hate for that to happen to him.

Ive started to take them off after every job, the truck is ceramic coated so im not worried about the paint too much, just don’t like them flying off.

Just so we’re clear here: That roll up tonneau does absolutely nothing to deter someone from stealing something out of the bed. Out of sight, yes. Protected, definitely not. I have a dull pocketknife that I found down by the creek that would slice that thing open with no problems.

Yes you are right. It is only a deterrent by not realizing what’s under it. Doesn’t take much to slice one open. Someone that sees you around often would figure out whats under there and know its worth the effort.

Definitely. It’s not the best protection, but it’s out of sight. It’s got support bars every couple of inches, that I don’t think much could fit through those when it’s out.

My guess is the guy saw my hoses and figured he could carry those away faster than a whole washer. If he didn’t see them, maybe I might still have them.

Fairly certain it would only take slice at the back. Reach in pop the 2 handles holding it on and now everything is accessible. But typically thats something that would happen overnight.

Did you find it right next to your van when you crawled out of it in the morning?

No, it was Coop’s van. He says he’s married but it’s all just a charade. Trust me.

Probably, not too worried about the over night part though. More concerned about the out of sight out of mind part . And I like the lesser level of stress it comes with
