Struggling father trying something new

Would be interested to see where the parts sources. Sounds like a super good gig my 5.5 first significantly more than that.

Udor pump predator motor. and for $100 more you can get a 1 year warranty on the motor. I am not a vendor or a builder. I built my own and love it. If a guy wanted me to build him one I could do it.

AAA Triplex Pump made by Comet

But i just came across this https://greenville.craigslist.org/tls/d/dewalt-pressure-washer-gx390/6670669059.html. Im sure i could talk him down a bit but it looks alittle rough. I have always been nervous on buying used stuff because its always as is and im not that mechanicly inclined on small engines or any sort of pump. I wouldnt even know what to look for to know if its a good deal.

If it works good and you could get for $400, I would do it. I’d put the rest of the money away for a replacement pump when needed. But I also don’t mind used gear. I bought a pristine GX390 for $300 and slapped a pump on it.

pressure washer direct has some good sales for what your looking for

Built these for $780 a piece 13hp predator motors and ar 5.5gpm (PRESSURE WASHER PUMP -AR TRIPLEX 1” HORIZONTAL SHAFT -RKV55G40HD-F24)

pumps not the best not udor or honda but cheaper good for when you dont have the funds. You can get get 100ft hose off ebay for $99 bucks not the best only 1 wire but cheaper had my 4000 psi pump spike to 5000 “scared me to” when adjusting the unloader but that $99 hose held

A 4000 psi hose won’t burst just because it hit 5000psi all hoses have working pressure and burst pressure ratings . Good hose is 4 to 1 cheep hose can be 3 to 1 . Your pump sees much higher pressures than that every day. If your gauge could work quick enough you would see pressure spike at almost double your pressure that the unloader is set to. But it’s only for a fraction of a second so it doesn’t cause damage. But it it why parts have two ratings

You should be able to find a decent amount of work down there between Laurens and Clinton. Heck learn to do wood, lot of docks on Greenwood.

@Racer small world. I grew up in greenville lived there most my life i graduated from wade hampton. My father owned a very successful business in PWing 10 years ago he helped move and washed the shoeless joe jackson house and did the sidewalks downtown and the drive stadium when it was upgraded, but most of his work was contracts washing big subdivisions that were just built.

What kind of psi are you getting out of them?

Ya ive been thinking about that alot every dock i see needs some cleaning. But my fear is it might be dead around here in fall and winter when no ones on the lake.

If i could build one i would but if i built it I wouldnt have any confidence in it haha.

One last try… https://charlotte.craigslist.org/hsh/d/pressure-washer-honda-gxobo/6655912520.html. Has anyone ever used this PW or similar. Im sure i could talk him down. Its a 2 hour drive for me. Is it worth my time to even drive down and look at it or if it a crappy setup?

Motor is too small. I like Comet pumps but I am in the minority. Also way too much money. You should be able to get a 4gpm with GX390 for less than that. It may take a while though.

Yeah dont do that. In the description it says it’s the perfect softwash system lol. If it was, he wouldn’t be getting rid of it… you’ll need a slightly bigger unit… try building one out of a predator engine like @Ratprixs did. 780 is cheap for that setup. I think it’s worth a shot !
