use socks or a dike, some people use foam, some use other things. Hacks let the water run under the door and leave.

Throw it away and put another 2315 on the end of the hose. They are good for about 3000 hours (1.5 years) and aren’t worth rebuilding. There should be no reason to have a ball valve or a surface cleaner that your trigger gun doesn’t plug into.
