SH on canvas awnings. Success!

Yeah. Bid it all. I’d even bid the window cleaning for this job. Even if you don’t clean windows regularly you may be able to squeeze out another $100 for 30 minutes of window cleaning with paper towels and windex. Lol.

Regular window cleaning from a window cleaning company on a route may charge $20, but they may be so glad to get it all done at once that $80 doesn’t hurt their feelings.

Not a bad idea. Thanks yea I just called him back and asked about the flat work. Said he would like a price for just the store front and than one with with the flat work included. Told him I’d give him 3 options one with store front one with just flat work and one with them together. The one where I put them together I’ll take off a Lil for a better deal

He already wants the store front, don’t price anything without the store front. Still give him 3+ quotes though…

  1. Store front
  2. store front + front concrete
  3. store front + windows (maybe concrete is too much, but window price is ok)
  4. store front + concrete + windows
  5. Etc.

What does the roof look like? Is the front going to look bad again after a couple of rain runoffs - put that in a “bundle.”

What does the side of the store look like? What does the side concrete look like? You get what I’m saying - quote everything.

How much can you get done in 1 full day? Make a bundle for that. Tell him, “for $1000 I can do [this & that], but for $1500 I can do [this & that plus this and this].” Chances are, you won’t be able to squeeze in another job after doing just one of the services here. Don’t “waste” the rest of the day - give him a great price for a days work and make that extra $$. It only “costs” you some more SH and gas.

Id be more careful on the strength on canvas. I know a strong bleach mix can degrade natural materials. Id use the least on the canvas that will get the job done. .6% should be fine all day long

@OCDmike that’s good info thanks pal. Also it’s a flat rubber roof but the front of the store is like 5 feet higher than the roof to hide a/c units and anything on roof. Also I asked about the sides he said only the front side. I have worked up so far a price for store front then just concrete and one with both concrete and store front.

My house wash mix is 1.5% I’d more then likely be using my 12v pump to apply mix.

@OCDmikeI I need to change my one quote that’s just concrete to both store front and concrete then do one with windows and one with all 4

Yeah, couldn’t tell much additional from pictures. Just something to keep in mind though.

Also, I do quote as much as possible myself, but I can’t take full credit for what I posted. Brodie started a great thread the other day on this exact topic.

I need to give credit where it is deserved.

I posted another set of awnings on here that had a thick layer of lichens on them. I was hitting them with 3% from the x-jet multiple times and they turned out beautiful. Been driving by them once a month for a year to meet with the CPA and they’re doing beautifully.

Awnings are designed to be in the sun for years. If UV hasn’t broken them down you can blast them. I tested straight SH on the inside of black awning and left it for hours. You could never tell there was even SH on them.

Yea iv been back to that off and on as soon as I seen it. Writing a quote is not really my thing but I’m learning…im buying my partner out next week due to him no longer wanting to do it. So I’m trying to figure it all out.

Haha yeah that’s because I don’t use it a ton. The rack just got welded to the trailer yesterday. I must’ve hit it as I was scrolling.

Ever seen chicks easily rip t shirts up and off. Think wet t shirt contest. Lol. Don’t ask. Soak one in about 4% over night and wash it. It will rip up like tissue paper. I’ve seen it. I was mainly talking about higher concentrations. 6% and up. Also specifically talking about canvas. Coated is different

Guys thanks for all the input I’m gonna swing by tomorrow and give a good look over and actually get the sqft of the all the flat work to be able to get quote in. I’ll post updates when I find out more.

OK guys I went by today to get a good look at everything. Looks like the canvases have a metal trim running above them and have rust run marks. Some are worse than others. When I wash them that will still be there right? Or will it come off as well with out anything else or at least lighting them up?
