Random observations

I’m going to try to remember to do a video Monday. I have a full day at the shop planned. I’ll show the remotes and how to make them for under $25

That would be awesome! I have seen ones on other sites that seem to fail very quickly (like less than 1 yr) and Russ wants a ridiculous $450. for theirs… I have to think yours would be quality.

William you care about this industry and love this business or you would not spend so much time on the boards over the years. Other then I agree and am astonished at all the people who do not do there homework before starting up a business.

He actually is helpful and helps or has helped alot of folks in many different ways over the years.

I get curmudgeonly at times. The remotes may last a day or 6 months. Kinda like injectors, but they are cheap.

remotes suck unless you are using 250 of hose or more, other then that they are a pia '

but they are simple enough to set up and try and form your own thoughts on it

My disjointed, rambling comments above are an attempt to prevent this. Buy what you need. Don’t buy what you can get away. If this is a part time endeavor get a 5 gpm maybe, I guess. But if you are feeding your family with this and providing paychecks for others, invest. Buy what makes you money. The start up cost in this business is cheap considering the profit.

Bingo. We only use them when doing breezeways. Rest of the time it is easier to walk to the truck. We use 250’ sections but rarely are you more than 100’ from the truck if you walk thru a breezeway.

Unfortunately i disagree with a lot of what you have said in this post.

Is it annoying when someone doesnt do a quick search, yes and thats why i dont always post in those to help the. I agree people need to help them selves first and learn.

What wrong with the following? "ball valves, surface cleaners with fixed mounted guns, pink nozzles,
pump up sprayers, little giant ladders, 12 volt systems for washing
structures, "
I use ball valves, pump up on almost every job to spray small areas, i dont have a 12 volt but have an AODD on order that i will be using a lot. We have very dirty stucco homes where DSing wont work, so whats wrong with using a 12 volt to wash a house? I use a ladder on almost every job, not to use high pressure or get up and personal, but the house i work on are not cookie cutter boxes. We also have to use ladders to get dirt daubers down, you have to hand scrub them, they will not come down other wise. I dont like this post because you make assumptions that everyone has to wash your way even though different region require different things.

You talk bad about the little guys who dont have 8+ gpm. I dont even have one, i have a 4@4k and a 5.5@2500 and i like them. Does that make me unprofessional? Not everyone can just drop 10-15k out of the gate to start with larger machines. Sometimes you do what you have to pay the bills. Also i know a lot of “bigger” guys who like to use the “smaller” machines because they soap better and stronger. Again we arent washing vinyl house where you cant DS a 50/50 mix. I DS straight or else it wont work.

What wrong with asking questions? Did you really start this business knowing everything?

Once again, people read what they want to in a post. I have dozens of ladders. We use them every day. I said little giant ladders. They are dangerous and an insurance audit will bust you for having one on a job site. Ball valves are redundant if you buy proper equipment. I knew about 90% of what I know now about washing because i researched almost 2 years and worked 2 months for someone and paid him for the priviledge of doing so. If what y’all are doing makes sense to you, keep at it I guess. I can’t wrap my mind around doing something slower snd costlier if there is a better way. My mistake starting out. I bought a 5.5 gpm with a general pump. A month later it had an 8 gpm udor on it. Learn from your mistakes. Or keeping making them. It’s your business

anything smaller then a 8 gpm you are not working as efficiently as you could be thus you are not making as much money as you could be. A professional always is as efficient as possible. they do not settle on “getting by” if your in this trade be the best you can be its what you do for a living. That just my attitude though

You speak much better than I so with the keyboard. What he said is what all my ramblings have been trying to say. Effeciency beats a lot of other gizmos, gimmicks and gadgets

Never heard of this. Little Giant ladders meet ANSI ASC / OSHA standards, so what grounds would an insurance company have to try to dis-allow their use?

I am assuming that this is the best of the best? So If I bought this then I could never be accused of being a part-timer or less than professional?

Meeting 1910 and passing UL doesn’t matter if insurance won’t cover them. Mine is based on the number of accidents with them unlocking. Other than that, Can you imagine carry a 28ft little giant around all day cleaning gutters? Maybe I should have said my insurance will bust you. Don’t know what yours will do.

You could be accused of being a sucker buying snake oil. I feel sorry for the guys that get sucked into buying that crap.

I know you’re a savvy businessman and I know you know your stuff in the pressure washing business but you confuse me. On one hand we’re all supposed to spend thousands of dollars on the best available equipment to run our business but then you call AC’s systems crap. I am a former aircraft mechanic and build custom cars and I know a first class build when I see it.

Not only that but he has a school to teach the business. I’m surprised that you’re not sending people to him since your complaining about all the new people buying junk and asking questions on the forum.

I’m in the business of cleaning things the most effecient way possible. 12 volts ain’t it. No matter how much powered bleach and miracle grow you try to sell with it in a fancy aluminum package. Nothing wrong with a vendor trying to make a buck. Just won’t be my bucks. Research. Long sordid history follows that softwash wagon.

Cool on the air craft mechanic. My Uncle was on Air Force One detail for his career, Johnson thru Carter. My brother is with Stetson in Air Cav as a chief on black hawks. He has 3 more years then he’ll be looking a civilian mechanics job on copters somewhere.
