I can vouch for BNI as well. I’ve been in BNI for about 4 months and it’s about 25% already. I partnered with a busy painting company as well. Join the biggest chapter in your area. My chapter has 58 companies.
Credits: thanks Brodie for the BNI recommendation. Solid advice.
What exactly is a “business network group”? From what i gather it seems like a business who keeps directories of companies and passes around the name to each other as business referrals. Ive never used any strategies like this but it sounds interesting!
Are you referring to something like a chamber? I see one local to me that claims 2,400 business members throughout my area.
BNI is a smaller group of professionals that locks out one seat per profession. So each group only has 1 painter, 1 realtor, 1 chiropractor, etc. Other painters if they even visit can’t mention what they do. It’s a lot easier to build business relationships the way BNI is structured than a shotgun approach like the chambers
I’ve heard from multiple sources that I trust completely how successful BNI is for small businesses. Nothing is 100% but BNI must be pretty dang close!
I owe a bunch of people calls, but have a hard time lately finding a bunch of time to chat via technology. PM me your number and I’ll put you on my call list for Monday and we can chat while I’m on the road if you’re cool with that.
Also, in other news, the woman I’m seeing and I went downtown to play old school video games and eat burritos today. I love love love to park the truck in target, beauty brands, Ulta, and pier one (aka where wives with money shop) parking lots while I’m eating lunch or just for a few hours at a time. We took her car.
So that’s what I did. Left the truck in the target parking lot and got a call to look at 3 duplexes, 6 doors within minutes of leaving it there. Older woman owns them.
$487 in vinyl and targeted marketing effort and I’ll likely have no less than $1500 out of the deal. Simple is best.
Also of note: Liberty, Gladstone, and Parkville MO are mine. I market relentlessly in a very narrow area 20 minutes from home base off 152 which will take me to anywhere I need to go in 20 minutes or less.
Except a good wrap can make you famous in your service area. Ever heard of seatow ? Probably not. But he has a bright yellow truck with seatow written on it. Every where goes I see him. If you wrap your truck correctly it will create a instant recognition for you.
Customers will come up to and say how they spotted you here and here and there.
I worked in finance with northwestern mutual for a couple years and then a financial planning firm in DC. Sales training and books and seminars and coaches are the key to survival. Northwestern mutual has one of the top sales training programs in the country.
Even before that my big brother used to mess up the analogy on purpose and say I could sell white gloves to a lady who loves ketchup popsicles. My kid brother started a company after leaving general dynamics and worked a few jobs with me. He and I have never really seen eye to eye, but even he said he’s never seen someone with a customer presence and ability to upsell like mine. That was a huge compliment.
I don’t know how it happened except that I’m hyper-observant and love reading. Lol
I just googled it. They’re a franchise where everything is required to look the same for licensing. They’re in a different universe than anyone here. They’re doing millions on top of millions in revenue.
I’ve seen one of their trucks. I spent a few minutes trying to figure out what they did with a name like that and being in Springfield mo. He was parked in one of the local hospitals parking lots.
