Price guide

I agree in-person estimates are great for the PR factor and building that trust.

But when you get to a certain level, it is not possible to always do in-person.

I leave the in-person estimates for only the more prestigious jobs that require that in-person touch.

All others are right over the phone.

Over the phone estimates are fast and easy once you get your rhythm going.

In my handyman business I can pull that off all day because my reputation allows it. My power washing business is in it’s infancy so it just requires a little more attention to secure these projects. I suppose it’s somewhat relative to your workload as well.

Maybe. But it’s most relative to your level of confidence.

I agree that new guys should run every lead and visit every job but long about the third year when you realize that you are giving up income to chase every lead, you’ll begin to develop a phone strategy. At least that is what happened in my case.

Confidence is paramount, I agree.

Sorry I haven’t been on in awhile but I appreciate all the replies, I found that it’s difficult getting the business started especially being only 23 but have my insurance now and working on a couple trucking fleets

How do you go about adding expenses? Figuring out whether to charge per hr or per sq ft also including expenses is the hardest thing about the job at the moment.
