Powerwashing or College?

I hope my kid comes to me when she is 16 with the same thoughts.

Dad - I’m unsure about college…

Me - Hot Damm - I had X bucks aside for you to go let’s start a business together instead.

I think the #1 skill you need to learn is business. Not doing the work but understanding actual business operations. Maybe use the next year to take some online classes ( after school )

Dental Hygienist starts out 30+ an hour with nice benefits. Only takes about 3 years.

When i was looking at Pharmacy school heavily about 5 or 6 years ago, i was reading a ton of forums where prospective/current Pharmacy students (and newly graduated ones), were posting. I seem to recall the starting pay to be around 100k for retail, maybe a tad more, and projected to go lower because of all the Pharmacy schools. Really having to reach through the memory archives here, but i think I remember a guy that posted his pay stub, and it was around $3500 take home every 2 weeks. He was a new graduate, but again, these are old memories, and i could be mistaken. There was a nuclear pharmacy follow up, that if i remember correctly, was only about a year of school, and cranked the pay up a little.

You’re a Pharmacist?

Unemployed Lawyer with no student loans, and a rich dad?

Hmmm… what’s her number?

I have one current and one past employee with a degree in Radiology from the local community college. On a side note my son is in his first year of Pharmacology. He lives at home but pays rent, pays for schooling, car, insurance etc. Well, my wife says he pays her $300 a month but I’ve never seen it lol. I kinda like him home so when his blood sugar alarm goes off in the middle of the night I have an excuse to wake him up, even if it’s to make him eat.

I am with you on this one. I have a little boy and I hope he never leaves home. That is gonna be one of the most heart breaking days of my life.

Don’t get me wrong. I want them all gone. At least from the house. Mom wants them there till they are 30 probably. Sooner I get kids out of the house the sooner I can move into a single level house with one bedroom

30 is a good age because if they are saving money and building a business, they should be able to buy a house with cash.

I left when I was 16. My dad was the dumbest guy I knew until I was about 25. Don’t know what happened there.

Who’s the dumbest now

He still is, I just don’t tell him anymore  Ramblings from dad post are all of his stories

Will start reading

I started power washing in high school. Went to college and did it in my spare time. Got my degree and realized I liked/ made a lot more money power washing than the jobs being offered. If you have the means to go to college without drowning in debt after do is so you have something to fall back on just in case the power washing business turns out to not be your thing or does not work out.

some of the best advise out there.

Personally I am “un lettered” ( high school grad ).
I just quit my job as a “product/building code instructor” to become a self employed pressure washer.
My wife was home schooled until 13 and then self taught. She speaks 3 languages and will destroy you at Jeopardy, and one of the smartest people I know.
