welp, firefox just gave me a very nasty warning because of my self-signed certificate… 
wondering if it would be less scary to BUNGLEs (Basic User, Not Geek Level Experience) to not have any certificate at all
Changing the nameservers broke gmail. Tried updating the mx settings in the a2 hosting, but no dice. I think it was still looking to godaddy for the mx settings, which got wiped when I input the custom nameservers.
Not sure what my next step should be. I’m stuck.
I think I should’ve ported my domain over to a2. Godaddy seems to be the hangup here 
Damn sorry to hear that. Have you tried calling a2? I’d bet they’d be a great help and walk you through the rest.
Definitely over my head now and hard to do all that without actually being in front of everything.
