Outdoor carpets

I take it it’s just like marine carpet??

That looks like what they sell at Home Depot, and I used that on my boat rebuild, so essentially the same thing, lol.

according to this UK site here is the difference https://sofatoday.co.uk/carpets/marine-carpet-vs-outdoor-carpet/

The difference between marine carpet vs outdoor carpet is that marine carpet has a tighter weave and will typically have a greater face weight as well. Marine carpet is also usually more durable as specialist manufacturers use extra treatments or designs to make it last longer.

Most of the stuff I see is 1/4 inch thick, the rest is like 3/8 inch. Sorry metrics for you 6.35mm to 9.53mm.

I installed one eons ago and used an adhesive and notched trowel to get it to adhere to the concrete.

if you leave too much soap in it, when you walk across it you will leave white/soap footprints. It is funny to look at. I’ve never let one try and dry that way, figured it would dry with my footprints, maybe the soap will settle and it will be ok. I don’t know. This is what I am trying to find out, other than using a shop vac or a carpet cleaner. I’ve flooded them before too, but youu have to push the soap out I am finding, but maybe I am doing it wrong or inefficiently. I would love to hear from someone who does a lot of these.

Good info, make sense :+1:. The stuff I’ve got on the boat gets hammered, baked on fish blood and bait etc I just pressure wash it off with couple thousand doesn’t really wear out or damage it in any way it really is durable like you say. Surprised why it isn’t used more in outdoor applications.

Use high pressure 40* tip. Start on the side away from the end spray in one direction till you see no more suds call it good , walk away. This is what I do on door mats, grass mats and carpets
