The decking is the easy part to maintain Steve, be sure to rinse the bottom of the trailer every now and then, gaps in decking and unavoidable stone chips underneath mixed with SH will lead to grinding disks if bad enough. Takes 15 seconds.
I bet he stacks em and then bwaaapp, dingdingdingding done!
Thatās a great idea. The underside of my current trailer is a rust bucket.
My next one going to put down some of that black rubber matting on floor. Think I saw some of it on @TexasPressureWashing truck build on the floor. Sure Iām going to screw and bolt stuff through it, but still got to be less damage to the underside than with just boards. Even with the deckover Iāve had boards get ruined.
Horse stall mats a lot thicker than this material. Iāve seen several use them in trailers. Think the stuff is only about 1/4-3/8 " thick, but havenāt seen personally. Samās use to sell by the roll. @TexasPressureWashing - what is that mat in floor of your truck bed?
I currently just have it sprayed with bed liner. Another guy on here used that mat.
I know what youāre talking about but not sure what itās called. I know Tractor Supply sells it by the foot on big rolls. The have a couple different widths and thicknesses.
I didnāt realize the floor of those units had a pattern. Looks real similar to the pics of mats Iāve seen. Thanks for the info.
Well I guess Samās stills sells it.
Ah yeah thatās the diamond deck they sprayed over.
Do you know the cost? We donāt have a Samās Club membership. The in-laws do though. I wouldnāt mind going to something like that too. I used Deck Over start of the season and itās not doing too bad but are some spots that are coming up from SH though.
Looks kinda similar to this stuff:
Pattern a tad different, but looks almost identical and a lot cheaper than the Samās which is $249. Both about same thickness.
Yeah, same problem I have with the Deckover. Almost like it traps the SH in places. $249 and if they have a + membership itās free freight. But the HDX looks basically the same for a lot less. The HDX says 7 year commercial warranty and the Sams says limited 5 year.
I put rubber mats in my enclosed trailer just where i put my buckets and SH pails. They were tearing the floor up after years of throwing and dragging them in and out. I only used 4āx3ā sections and cut to size. I want to pull them out so I can dry the floor on my down days. Even with a painted floor it becomes extremely soft and pulpy from staying wet for days. I donāt recommend permanent mats if water is going to get under it.
Do you think that the air between the boards on an open trailer would keep them pretty dry? Of course goal is to keep the SH off of them.
Thatās what I was thinking on open trailer.
She had her maiden voyage today. I had to do a house wash at one oāclock and was frantically trying to get everything tightened down and ready. Still have tanks, softwash system, and tool boxes to mount up. Itās really different towing a 2 axle thatās 2 ft longer. Will take some getting used to.
