Oilfield Pressure Washing

How difficult were sand haulers with belly dump trailers to wash? I would imagine there would be some grease to clean up where the truck and trailer mate as well as the engine bay area but would it usually just be spraying mud/dirt off with a pressure washer and calling it a day? I’m new to the industry and am somewhat unsure of what’s expected for what price point lol. I have an 8GPM hot pressure washer so I feel this should be more than enough.

Howdy @JJOilFieldServices.
Its the frac sand debris removal before the initial wash that takes the time. We run 2, 5.5 gpm hot machines and usually takes us 35 minutes to wash with
engine bay and DOT wash included , one machine uses a turbo nozzle on trailer and undercarriage only ,the other follows behind and lays down or #1 then #2. not much grease to contend with if you do a weekly or biweekly wash. We charged $115 for weekly, $150 for biweekly on a 48’ dump belly with a Mack day cab pulling it

Good luck man.

straight up good advice. my nephew just got laid off in ND-Bakken and he laughed that they were cleaning up all the equipment the last 3 days and then told to pack it all in and my brother (in Idaho/Wyoming) is working from home on “sales” for when it all fires up again.
Good luck to you. Texas is a different beast to ND, God speed and be safe.

Did you get the building you were looking at?

If you wash at one location, how do you deal with all that sand and other crap that comes off? It would have to make a large pile by the end of the day.

I got that building @Dirtyboy and use it as a shop and 1 60’ by 30’ bay for polishing trucks. We’re staying mobile for that reason you stated and we also make more by being a catered mobile truck washing crew because the drivers and owners can just rest up and not have to worry about moving trucks to facilities to get washed here or over the road.
Hope yalls weather has changed for the better up there sir.

I hope that building was everything you wanted and is working out for you and the wife. I really like your hustling business plan, catering to people is never a bad idea plus I think you develop strong business relationships. I would be willing to bet a steak dinner or two that you have gotten a bunch of gigs from word of mouth betweeen truckers.

Well, I had my equipment out for a week or two then had to drain everything. This is my back yard yesterday morning (ignore the untouched mess of aa garden, need to do spring tilling once it dries some). Overnight low was 27.
