Newbie saying hi and thanks for the info

Well good on ya amigo. I’d probably rather starve than work underground but a man has to do what a man has to do.

Just please be sure to research and ask questions on things you are unsure of before you get in over your head and damage the integrity of this industry. Everybody hates the $99 guy but if he does things by the book and isn’t tearing up people’s homes then who cares what he is charging. This site is a wealth of information for newbies like us. Use it to your full advantage. Wash your relatives and friends homes before you ever touch a paying customer’s house. Go slow.

Would I have to leave it full or just inches above the ball valve or over the pump to keep it from siphoning

Half a tank could be managed possibly and I could eliminate sloshing with tiling

Third or half will be fine I think :ok_hand:t2:

The benefits outweigh the hassles of messing around draining, ballvalves, giving it a few pulls with the switch off etc.

If sloshing is an issue, you can put stuff in it. Baffle balls or some plastic fencing stuff IBS linked to one time.

Thanks and definitely won’t be that guy my time is worth more than that and already did the families houses not only for exp but for the before and after advertising pics😉 I like to think I have done a lot of research but I don’t believe I will ever stop learning after 22 years in the mine I was still learning probably will be with this as well but rest assured I’ll do my best to do things right and if I don’t know how I’ll simply tell the owner I’m not the man for the job not too proud to know my limits…

Honestly, as long as you maintain a water level a few inches above the outlet you should be good to go. When you start getting low on water try to look down in your tank and see at what level it starts to have a whirlpool effect. At that point you are beginning to suck air. Mark that spot and just don’t let it go below that and only drain it to that level.

I plan on installing a sight glass on the outside of the tank I’ll get a mark on it and drain it to that point I don’t like not being able to see my water level in the white tank easily so I’ve picked up a 1/2 in bulkhead and I’ll be installing a sight tube for visual level indicator I’m going to put a small round cork ball painted orange in the hose so I can see it

You can also put a small fitting in the bottom of the tank and run a clear hose straight up and into the top of the tank.

The current water level will be shown on this.

I have this set up on mine as my tank is opaque and hard to see.

That’s what I am talking about doing only putting in the hose a floating device for a better visual of the water level

Good creative use of your space. I like it and looks like you’ve thought thru everything pretty well. Good luck

I looked at fishing floats etc but in the end, I used…

…a foam earplug!

Bright yellow and it fits and floats perfectly!
