New guy here, is your bleach old? That could be where the missing strength is from.
Where did you get your rig? I am in southern ontario and iut’s a nightmare finding someone. We focus more on driveways and resealing though, rather than house washes.
A company out of Montreal called unimanix.
Bought the bleach from a company the night before the job.

1- I’ll buy some of those asap!
2- I’m not very mechanically inclined or good with installing this stuff but I will look in to it.
3- this weight off the pump… I’m assuming you mean the long connecting piece I have that has the CI and the gauge… Is it really that heavy? Also when installed he didn’t put the vibration feet on the machine because he needed to drill it to the bottom… Will the vibration hurt the machine? Or nah. The reel swivel? My real doesn’t swivel so I’m lost here as well…
4- the gauge will go very soon I just need slightly more time to get a feel for the pressure… Right now it helps with knowing what pressure for certain decks etc. Also do I need to have my hand on the trigger to adjust pressure I have noticed that it doesn’t change if my wand is away from me and the trigger isn’t being pulled.
5- I am not even using the jrod right now… I’m using a black tip that if I pull on it shoots long and can also shoot wide and low its pretty much a m5ds I suppose.
6- I’m assuming you mean when I’m rinsing I would walk back to the van and flip a switch of sorts that would just shut the CI off in general? Right now when I am done I am running a five gallon bucket of water threw the CI is that not good enough?
7- the unloaded off the pump eh… I am wondering why the guy who installed it didn’t do that unless this is common to do and its just better to do it the way you have mentioned. Why is my shit so f’d up!!
8- I will test my draw rates on my current injector so I can know what it was at and also get that new injector you mentioned
9- my bleach was purchased from a chemical company the day of. Its definetly good to go unless they are running a shady operation which I doubt they are a big company.

You’re quite welcome. Take the time to invest in your mechanical knowhow. It will pay dividends in the future. Especially when living in more of a remote area.
It may not weigh much, but every little up-and-down/side-to-side motion is magnified by the leverage effect the longer it becomes. That taxes the threads in the fittings and can promote leaky joints and other unforeseen complications. Best to eleminate or relocate as much of that stuff as possible.
I think the rubber feet are a good idea, unless you have really thick rubber flooring instead. @squidskc or @Innocentbystander would know more about this topic than I do.
Right now all that gauge is telling you is the pressure at the pump, not what you’re getting from your nozzles. This is due to the pressure loss from 150’ or however much hose you’ve got. If you want the gauge to be useful at all, then put quick connects on it and stick it before your gun temporarily to see the pressure there. But you would be better off familiarizing yourself with a nozzle chart and going from there.
I suppose whatever works. I really like my modifed j-rod, though. 3 nozzles: 2540, 0540, and shooter nozzle. I haven’t tried any variable tips, yet.
Yes, technically you would open a high pressure ball valve that diverts the flow around the injector so it is not restricted by the tiny orifice in the 2-4gpm injector. I definitely feel a difference when bypassing the injector, and can hit about 3-5’ higher with the stream.
For the final rinse, I keep the bypass closed and switch the 3-way poly valve to suck clean water through the injector. I guess I probably only pull about 5 gallons of water through the DS injector for that rinse out. But it’s super convenient to only have to switch a valve.
(Also, I haven’t seen many here call their injectors a “CI”. All I can think of is “confidential informant”, lol. Best to stick with acronyms that are common to the community. I see DSI or DS used occasionally. )
See point 3 above. It’s not as common to use a mounting block for the unloader, but is a ‘best practice’, imo.

Hey this is always an option instead of doing work you underqouted, say hey i under quoted and ask for more money. If they trip put and try to hold you to the low price, they are a dirtbag and not a customer you want longterm.
He didn’t under quote it… He didn’t have the experience to do the job efficiently.
Anyone that has to ask for more money for a job they quoted, is a dirtbag. The only time more money is warranted is if there are add ons or change orders.
He now has the experience of being on a job and not knowing your equipment or process. Bet he won’t let it happen again.

I didn’t change the price but I can see why you think I should have charged more. This isn’t my first long job… I love honesty and I hate being screwed myself. I was the one who mis quoted not the customer, I refuse to add hidden prices. My honesty was the reason that neighbors all signed on… I quoted for a one day job and Honored it even though it took three. It was the reason I got more work… If you act like a car salesman your screwed… If your honest and hardworking the work comes to you that’s just my opinion and how I choose to run my business

I agree. I don’t think you under bid it. It should have been a 1 day job. Like I said, I’m sure you will have your machine and chems worked out before the next one.

Couple questions about these proportioning injectors:

How have they been holding up for you?

Do they work the same as a normal injector where a low pressure tip draws soap and higher pressure does not?

Just to confirm you are able to draw straight 12% SH and soap at the right concentration without mixing in H2O in your tank? It would be nice to avoid the mixing step! Thanks!

Great. Swapped them all out, 5 in total and haven’t replaced one since. Stainless steel and ceramic ball.

Yep. I think the grey proportioner may actually pull more soap than no proportioner at all.
Just finished 3 house washes today and was able to soap and immediately rinse every side. Works just like the day I got it.

This is the original I installed prior to making the plumbing walkthrough video and showed in that video. I even talked about the knick in the Kevlar piece in that video. I made that video over 6 months ago so I’ve been using it for nearly 8 months with zero issues.

Cool, thanks for the input. I was about to order some more regular injectors and just stumbled on this thread while researching some other stuff. Will give these a shot.
What GPM machine are you using with the grey proportioner? We currently use a 2 to 3 GPM injector on a 4K/4GPM machine with 200-ft of hose.
