May be denied use of Hydrant

Beat me to it, I remember from a previous post the sprinkler system has a water hookup.

Like @Genaroguzman mentioned, look for a rainbirdā€¦ Thatā€™s what they call those irrigation connections

There are no spigots available anywhere.

I spoke briefly with the maintenance guy and he confirmed this.

There is a pump house near the middle of the complex which is where I suspect all the irrigation pumps are and that will have to be where I fill up. Itā€™s too far to run a hose to my buffer tank to the pump house for most units.

So, have you ever known of a ā€œfriend ā€œ who just carefully tapped into a hydrant for water without going through city?

So how far is it to the pump house? How large a buffer tank do you have? And what size machine you running? Are you pulling trailer or truck mount?

You definitely donā€™t want to do that. If you were to get caught youā€™d be in deep doo doo. I believe itā€™s actually a theft charge in most states. No bueno.

Hey Rick! The furthest run from the pump house to the most distant complex is 800 feet. Too long to run a garden hose, right? I will have a 250 gallon tote for the water - I can also rent a 550 gallon tote on a trailer for a decent rate. I will have a 5.5 pump on my GX390. My setup is on a trailer.

My plan for now is to run a hose from the pump house to my water tote/ rig for as many buildings as possible then just run back to the pump house to refill my tote for the further units.

The units are 180ā€™ long and a mix of brick and vinyl.

Thanks for the guidance, I will let my friend know

I know all areas are different but what $ range would you all be in per building for this layout? 180 long and about 70 wide? I sent a price and it reflected the water challenges since this will slow me down.
Just looking for a soft-wash of the exterior - no roof washing.

what about renting a water pump that will get you the supply your needing from the pump house to your buffer?

That is a very good suggestion, thanks! I guess my main concern is running hose that far which could create a tripping hazard. Other than that itā€™s a great idea.

Figure an hour of washing per building, $300.
Plus whatever your water situation merits

Dang, you think you could knock that out in an hour? I estimated 3 hours per bldg.

And this is not trying to be smug or mean but, guys that donā€™t get bids for commercial work are probably losing it to guys that do commercial work. Not that that is your scenario here. There is very little to actually be washed on that building. Wash the siding and painted surfaces. You should be able to soap that as fast as you can walk out, then rinse on the way back.

Iā€™m not trying to derail this thread, but this is the only page on the website i can get to. Is the site experiencing problems??

Yes, it is.

I let Chris know.
