Lower revs question

Na the most wear is on the orfice. Some run 2.1 orfice to get more draw and water there sh down. But I like using a 2.3 orfice and straight sh about .85 percent hitting the surface. U get more gpm for rinsing and ur sh will last a lot longer than being water down. And no wasted room in tanksšŸ˜

Maybe itā€™s in my head but when I close my ball valve partially it seems to put out less water volume and psi this creating a stronger mix when using the xjet.

@Coolunderpressure your correct on the machine. I believe we have the same skid.

Harold instead of closing ur ball valve some. Install a 2.1 orfice injector then u will be getting 7.5 gpm and ur xjet will put out a stronger mix. But it will be consistent instead of closing the ball valve some. And the xjet has an orfice to so it will affect the stream coming out. Kinda like using a xjet rated for 8 gpm with a 5 gpm pump. It wonā€™t affect the stream munch though just wonā€™t shoot as high maybe bout 5 feet.

Makes sense. Iā€™ll try that. :+1:

But to answer your question. Yes if u close the ball valve off some and it is bypassing say 1 or 2 gpm. Then ur xjet will be putting out a stronger mix. But I would suggest if u had a 12 volt or air diaphragm use it if u need a mix that strong. Or install the injector with the 2.1 mm so at least it is consistent.

I do if the job is big enough. My 12v mix tank usually has 50/50 40/60 ish. The xjet is in the middle for me. DS, xjet, 12v. Weakest to strongest. I should get a porportioner

When I went from 5 gpm to 8.5 I changed the orfices in my xjet. Couple of bucks if Iā€™m not mistaken 8 gpm takes number 14 orfice in the xjet I think. Easy to change donā€™t take but a minute. They just slide in they donā€™t screw in like the one on ur injector. Just donā€™t drop the spring!!

I changed it. 8gpm calls for a 16 orifice.

But I found that the 13 orifice, which is for 5gpm puts out a stronger mix. So I kept it undersized to 13.

Got ya. Just bypassing a good bit of water. So once u get through applying you remove the xjet so u have 8.5 gpm to rinse with. Iā€™m firing up my air diaphragm pump Iā€™m not a fan of xjet carrying around a bucket. But I do have one if the situation arises. But I havenā€™t used it since I changed the orfice in it.

I might use it more if I had a air setup. I donā€™t get the range that I would like with my 5gpm 12v. It does the trick for roofs. A new setup is on my want list. Didnā€™t make the need cut just yet.
