Low pressure ball balve

Nope, you do have to pull off the whole 100’ though, or use 2x50’ lengths…

Wow. …

Come back tomorrow and re-read this and I’m sure it will make better sense.

I don’t think it will. You can teach something to someone, but you can’t understand it for them.

What you’re doing makes perfect sense to me, just get a full flow on/off valve. Ace hardware has them or you can order online. Be sure to check the connection onto the reel, a lot of those are very restrictive and only like 3/8 or 1/2".

BUT, a 100’ of 5/8 hose only weighs like 20 lbs. Most of us that started with a small unit just rolled up hose and laid or hung in truck. That way, if you have a 100’ of pressure hose and 100 supply then you’ve got 200’ of range. If you still want to use a reel to store on truck to keep neater looking then, that’s fine, but just as easy to carry 50-100ft of hose than roll that cart to the spigot and then back and you don’t have to worry about reel connection.
By the way, I think I saw in another post that you have 100’ of pressure hose. I’d keep that to no more than 50’, plus 100’ of it is fairly heavy and a pain to roll up by hand.

Now I know! :+1:

Yeah I have two 50ft HP lines and if I can get away with using just one I do. Sometimes on these corner lots I gotta double up. Got the 50ft supply line on the reel and got another 75ft hanging in the trailer. I’ll look for that full bore ball valve. Thanks for the insight.

You can leave the reel and the machine by your truck. If you reverse the hose and hook up the hose to the spigot. Wheres the water goin to come out of ??? The lead hose !!! Now you connect the lead hose to your machine.

I never met a house that needs more then 200’ of pressure hose. You don’t need to drag your machine all over the place , or your reel. all you need is enough pressure washer hose to get around the house. If your pressure hose isn’t on a reel just get 4-5 sections of 50’ sections of pressure washing hose

I’ve worked like this for 7 years before I bought a Rig. I had double stack reels mounted back of my van. Pulled out the power washer left it by the back door of van. Rolled out hose to spigot connect lead hose coming from reel to PW and rolled out what ever pressure hose needed.

Perfect. Yeah thats what I do now with pressure hose, 50ft sections, add when i need to.

Well sheet i run water through my supply reel :// fail

As do I, but I’m not pulling a massive amount of water through my 3.5 gpm pump.

Most do

I do, too. However, most homes in my area average around 8gpm from the outdoor spigots. Some much more than that so flow is never really an issue. It seems most areas average between 4-6gpm from their spigots and I see that in some neighborhoods.

Yeah so far i havent had issue lol if it aint broke scenario.

if you have no issues, carry on

We’re often trying to maximize flow into the buffer to keep up with the PW on larger jobs…

Is this overkill?

Im looking for a single that goes on the male end of supply line. I found it but thanks.

I run 300’ of hose where I am almost every week.

?

Yep, but I like the green plastic ones. They’re lighter.
