Them youngins need to show some restraint

Those elderly people giving advice have the same rights to make prerequisites for giving out advice as you do for being lazy and ill mannered.

So, am I allowed to ask others, or am I not allowed to ask others? You aren’t the arbiter of when and who I am supposed to ask. Either I should ask, which allows me to ask here, or I am not supposed to ask, which also precludes me from asking those at a building supply store. So, which is it?

I am too lazy to answer

Perfect illustration of why it is GOOD to be your version of lazy. Who would waste time reading a string of numbers on a meme?

The age of wasting time is over. The future is now, old man!

I think this is a former poster reincarnated. Funny how they can spit venom but still want to take advantage of folks here. :astonished:

You didn’t ask about vinyl. You asked about Hardie Board. I gave you the same suggestion as I would have given anyone with a question about a specified product you may be interested in knowing more about. In addition to doing what I suggested to you I also spent a good amount of time on the manufacturers and other’s sites looking at suggested correct installation, paint prep procedures and cleaning recommendations.

This was done out of curiosity and also to protect myself when cleaning the product by knowing what to look for in the installation. I can directly attribute well over $2000 worth of business past six months to being able to talk to potential clients about their product. One being a realtor who is still sending me business.

If you don’t like the advice, then don’t listen to it.You were the one asking, not me. Didn’t cost you a penny and I personally could GAF if you take it or not but someone reading this thread might someday in the future, may think it’s not a bad idea. And I still say that if you don’t know the difference between the two you probably need to get more education before you do wash anything.

That was smooth there with the GAF

They say you have to develop a thick skin on this board, this is absolutely true. It ain’t easy to just say, “ok thanks” to some of the advice given, I’m still feeling things out and trying to bite my tongue. There’s a treasure trove of info from these veterans.

I’m a ‘veteran’ in a couple different ways, it’s hard to humble yourself when you’ve been the one giving knowledge in your field for a quarter century, only to start all over again in a different career field.

I don’t ask a lot of questions. I do a lot of reading. Anything you can think of to ask, has probably been answered ten times over on here.

Most likely! Only problem is trying to figure out what terms to search so you don’t have to go thru a bunch of BS to find the right answer. But, you can gain some other knowledge by going thru those other threads though.

100% agree here. It’s extremely difficult to start over when you were the subject matter expert for 20+ years.
