Glad it came out for you Sir!
The nice thing about ice and water is that it’s a rubber so when you put a nail though it the glue on the back and the rubber seal it. My grandfather has a roofing company he taught me to do this a long time ago I cant think of one roof we put on or he put on that ever leaked.
Me my wife and my scrubber helper did it @Greenman , probably spent more money on new tools and a fancy air nibbler than i would have if i just hired someone.underlayment first, 2×4’s for furring strips then 1" foam board in between furring strips then galvalum , just used long runs to avoid overlapping. I also had to rip off the entire roof on the addition to the left that some jack wagon built with 2x4s for trusses 24" on center then marry 2x6s on and new ply wood that was a pita im no carpenter but can pound nails. $2500 for whole build i believe round $900 for all the galvalum and caps etc, Galvalum was 1.39 sq foot plus ridge caps and side caps.
I hope it works for you its gotta be better than that vacuum hose. Sorry I didn’t call this morning I got caught up trying to help someone do something I had no time for or business doing but that’s me big softe that cant say no
@Harold you seen this? No thank you!
Impacts of bleach overspray on a galvanized metal roof. (THIS WAS NOT DONE BY US) - YouTube
Lol yes. I caught it on a Facebook group and followed the post. You have to be sure that the metal is coated before you just start spraying bleach on it. I’m glad I was lucky enough to learn this from other people’s mistakes.
This is just folks not knowing what the heck there doing, I bet it didn’t even cross there mind to pre wet and rinse over spray on the Steel roof whoever did it. These jobs can be done successfully with no problems, don’t avoid them. It takes all of 60 seconds of thinking to assess problem areas, this was a splash and dash job.
