@squidskc just finished reading Built to Sell by John Warrillow, good book, entertaining, educational, and thought provoking. I don’t plan on selling my business but the perspective helps me think about how I need to shape my company.

How’s your plan coming along?

I was a little overzealous on my timeline I think, but so far so good. Marketing templates, scripts for phone calls, sales, review requests, etc. I’ve been paying for things cash instead of using business credit effectively to hang on to cash and maximize deductions and “ownership” of equipment, etc.

If I’m selling the business for revenue I think my back office/accounting is going to need someone to constantly make sure we’re optimizing the dollars we’re taking in and letting go. The other stuff is easy. It’s just putting what you do that works on paper and turn it into a process that someone can take over with limited training.
