so, is this an AR gearbox if so I dont know anything about it. not the same box I was talking about.
Not all gearboxes need spacers.
Yes, an AR gearbox.
All gear boxes are the same principle. Take one speed and reduce it to something different. Mine just happens to be a 6:1 reducer, or max 550 rpm.
Bearing took a sh*t. Pretty sad this happened after 200 hours. It also took the pinion gear shaft with it. The end of the gear should be nice and smooth. Youāll see in the picture where thereās a groove cut into the shaft.
Lol. That it definitely did!
Gear boxes and poly chains are fine for hobby equipment, but for the equipment you earn your living off of, go belt driven.
Man, Iād better convert my truckās transmission to a CVT.
Donāt do that. My wife drives a Pathfinder and the transmission sucks. But you get my point.
My sister bought a brand new Nissan SUV (I donāt remember which one) about a year ago and I was doing some research on those things so I could give her an idea on when to maintenance things. Well, after a ton of reading and talking with Nissan mechanics, I decided that CVT transmissions are just not worth the headache and that she should probably just trade it in when the warranty is almost up lol you wouldnāt believe the crap you have to do just to do a drain and fill on one of those things. Ridiculous.
We donāt really get rid of things until they are dead. Off the last three minivans my wife had, two were towed in for the $1000 trade in and one was given away. Two had 200k miles and I blew up the other one runningg sea foam thru it. So, weāre stuck with this pierce of junk until it blows up I guess. Sheās tight with a penny. She has to be. I just spent 10k on a golf cart because I was frustrated.
Lol 10 Gās?!?! Goodness gracious. Thatās a nice work truck. But, I understand. Sometimes itās just worth it to save your blood pressure.
Iāve only owned 2 gear boxes. An AR that lasted 2 years, and a Udor thatās now running strong since 2005. Iāve always had some slight metallic sludge in it. Iāve assumed Iāve been on borrowed time with it, but it just keeps running
Is it true the Udor gear box is completely wet? Meaning the entire engine shaft is sitting in the gear oil? The article mentioned this helped with sliding the shaft off the gear box assembly.
I read somewhere this was the case, but canāt seem to find anymore info on it.
Mine is a typical gearbox where you bolt half of it to the pump, slide the gear onto the pump shaft, assemble, and slide the gear box onto the engine shaft. Udor makes some pretty wild stuff, so I wouldnāt be shocked by any of their designs.
Hey what oil do you use in your gearbox I used 80-W90 and itās foaming all out the breathing. Hole
90w gear oil. Not regular crank case oil.
Kingās !98. Donāt use engine oil.
Lol, I got so tickled using Kingās 98 that I typed gear oil instead of engine oil.
Can you imagine 90wt engine oil??
